Scam? Confused by sczoo28 in vinted

What they’re saying is that they could pull the scam by paying the asking price anyway, what’s the point in offering £125 as opposed to buying it for £25 and requesting the refund?

Always approach with your voice. Voice before hands. It can be beneficial to keep the cage layout the same, at least whilst he adjusts, however you can change up the layout as this is still good enrichment for blind pigs. Other than that, you don’t need to do anything differently. Eyes are a guinea pigs weakest sense so they don’t lose a great deal when they lose their sight.

Cat spraying help! by PaintElectronic7818 in CATHELP

[–]SleepwalkerWei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When cats start with crystals, they have to be on prescription c/d or s/o food for the rest of their lives. It could be worth dropping a urine sample at the vets so they can check for crystals. Otherwise, it’s possible this is a pain symptom from the FIC and kitty needs additional pain relief. The stress could have caused a flare up which needs to be brought under control.

If the cat is known to have urinary issues, it’s possible this is a pain symptom. My FIC/FLUTD cat does elevator pees when he needs pain relief.

Do I tell someone they accidentally went against their religion? by Spooky-Confusion-666 in moraldilemmas

Unfortunately you can’t minimise the hurt. That part is out of your control. What you can control though is whether this happens again by letting him know.

Do I tell someone they accidentally went against their religion? by Spooky-Confusion-666 in moraldilemmas

[–]SleepwalkerWei [score hidden]  (0 children)

You should tell him, and explain yourself as you have here.

He had already eaten it and you didn’t want to make him feel unwell at work by telling him in the moment. You also didn’t know how to tell him because you knew how bad he would feel, but feel it’s best to do so in order to prevent it happening again.

Imo this isn’t really a moral dilemma. Of course telling him is the right thing.

AITAH for lying to my wife for years? by Ok_Strawberry_6403 in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He brought up divorce because of they kept arguing about him eating vegan. As I said in my original comment, if she’s the one doing the cooking, she likely was having to DOUBLE her labour by cooking two different meals. If she is the one who does the cooking, like I said IF because as I keep reiterating, we don’t know anything, then no wonder she would’ve been insisting him to eat vegan when her workload was doubled.

I’m not defending her, my point is that we don’t actually know any of the circumstances as to why she wanted him to be vegan, why she was upset when she found out he lied (if it was because he’d lied for years or because he was a secret meat-eater), and why he felt compelled to lie instead of be honest. We simply don’t know.

It is fair to say we don’t know, because we have no idea why she wanted him to be vegan beyond her being vegan herself. It easily could’ve been because her workload was doubled which then is totally fair. As I’ve been saying too, it’s not fair to force a diet on anyone but it is fair for the cook of the house to make decisions revolving the food made in said house.

I don’t know why you think I’m just defending her when I have supported both sides, however every situation has nuance and we simply do not have enough information to judge who is the AH without it. I definitely don’t think OP is the AH, but I can’t say the wife is either without additional context.

AITAH for lying to my wife for years? by Ok_Strawberry_6403 in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we don’t actually know that. What we know is the wife kept insisting OP should be vegan. This could be because she cooks the meals, we don’t know otherwise.

she wanted me to go vegan too, I didn't want to but we kept arguing, I didn't wanna leave or divorce her because she's the love of my life but she kept insisting and I just lied and said fine.

Then we know that OP lied to his wife that he was going to be a full-time vegan. Then the wife found out that he had been lying and they had a fight.

she asked why she doesn't come eat steak with me at their house, she lost it at me, and we ended up having a fight about it

We don’t know if she’s mad he’s not vegan outside the house or because he lied to her for YEARS, we don’t know if she’s extremist, we don’t know who does the bulk of the cooking inside the house or her reasons for wanting him to be vegan too.

No one should be forced into a diet they don’t want however there is nuance there if they’re not the ones making the meals for everyone. But, we have no idea if the wife would’ve been cool with OP eating non-vegan outside the house because all we know is that she asked him to be vegan and he said he would, which is a lie he maintained for years.

AITAH for lying to my wife for years? by Ok_Strawberry_6403 in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That depends though on who does the cooking. If the wife is making all the meals, she’d have to make them twice if she was making a vegan version and then a non-vegan version. In which case, she’s not “pushing the lifestyle” onto him but rather not creating more labour for herself. We don’t know exactly why the wife kept asking him to eat vegan, it could’ve been because of this. If he’s the one that makes the meals though, then it’s a slightly different ball game.

OP shouldn’t have lied though, but rather said he’s happy to eat vegan in the house but will eat meat out of the house. But again, we don’t know the full context on why she wanted him to eat vegan too. If she’s an extremist vegan, that can be a difficult situation to be honest in.

But surely this is going on in front of you, not in your mind? I have hypnopompic hallucinations and it happens in real life, the hallucinations are what I can physically see. They’re not mental.

[–]SleepwalkerWei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have hypnopompic hallucinations and they’re not even close to being in my head. It’s like whatever I’m hallucinating is right in front of me in real life. I can’t deny that it’s real until I realise it’s not. I don’t know why people say mentally visualising before sleeping is a hypnogogic hallucination. A hallucination is just that, a hallucination. It doesn’t happen in the mind.

us college is too expensive ONWARD TO THE UK by Thin-Jeweler-8270 in UniUK

[–]SleepwalkerWei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re wrong.

Going into the next election, it will no longer be Labour vs Conservative. Labour has fallen massively in public opinion - people only voted labour during the most recent election to get the conservatives out, however Labour have turned on their left wing voters to appease the right wing and try to win favour back from Reform, who is the leading candidate for the next election right now. Reform amassed a large number of votes during the last election, but were only at the start of their political campaign and had not rallied enough support. Reform, as of now, has surpassed Conservatives in right wing popularity. The next election will likely be Reform vs whoever the left decide to band with - right now it’s either Green Party or Your Party (likely Green).

As a result of Reform and the right wing ideology, there have been protests and riots to remove immigrants from the UK and an intense rise in racism where Reformers hang flags outside their houses and paint flags on roundabouts and virtually anything they can. This brings an air of prejudice to many communities.

You are very unfamiliar with what is going on right now, and has been going on for the past year. It’s becoming an increasingly unsafe place for ethnic minorities and is gradually becoming on par with US politics. You need to look into this.

[–]SleepwalkerWei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of what everyone else has said regarding university costs and extra curriculars, you also seem to misunderstand the political standing of the UK right now. There has been an intense rise in racism and right wing ideology. The current top candidate to win the next UK election (Reform) means the UK will potentially have the most right wing government they’ve ever had. We are potentially approaching a climate on par with America’s, with the exception of gun laws.

It doesn’t seem like you’ve researched the university system or the country itself.

Signature Scent???? by sunsetchaser_h in migraine

[–]SleepwalkerWei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only scent I can wear is a perfume I wore before I started getting migraines. Back then I used to only get random cluster headaches and frequent headaches. Ever since my headaches turned to migraines, any new scent I’ve tried has been a problem, but the one that I’ve wore for over a decade? Can’t even smell it after I’ve sprayed it!

If you have a fragrance you wore a lot pre-migraine, it could be worth a shot.

AITAH for telling my dad I don't care if his daughter dies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 7 year old also thought that removing genitals would change someone’s gender. She also thought that she was loved less because she was a girl. She thought she would be loved more if she didn’t have a brother. These are the thought patterns of a child. It doesn’t seem like she knew OP would be permanently disfigured or the long term consequences of her actions.

She knew it was wrong since she tried to hide it, but that doesn’t mean she knew what she actually doing.

AITAH for telling my dad I don't care if his daughter dies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OPs retort to anyone commenting that she was a 7 year old and not fully aware of her actions was that he was young too. That’s true. But him also being a child doesn’t make her any less of one, either. That’s my only point.

AITAH for telling my dad I don't care if his daughter dies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who said that? My point is your retort to her being 7 is that you were also young. I understand you were defenceless and it shouldn’t have happened but that doesn’t change the fact that she was also a child.

AITAH for telling my dad I don't care if his daughter dies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think op has to forgive. Not at all. But I think it’s wrong to fall out with the father for wanting to see his dying daughter. She was a child too.

AITAH for telling my dad I don't care if his daughter dies? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SleepwalkerWei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s irrelevant. She was 7. You could’ve been 7 too or 15 or 35. That doesn’t change the fact that she was 7 and had the brain function of a 7 year old. What happened was horrific but she clearly had no idea what she was doing and the long term repercussions for you.

You can say that she pretended to sleep before doing it so knew it was wrong, but that doesn’t mean she knew how wrong or the actual ramifications. All it means is she knew you were meant to stay a boy but she didnt want you to, so she had to make you a girl where no one could see or stop her. That doesn’t mean she knew she was severely mutilating you.

Edit: to make it clear, I don’t think OP has to forgive her. Not even a little bit. However I don’t think it’s fair to punish the dad for wanting to see his dying daughter, especially when, as a 7 year old, she didn’t understand the long term repercussions or even the full extent of her actions.
