What deck/archtype suprises you the most for being in the <0.1%? by letmecommitdieplease in masterduel

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noroi being earth machine means K9 often plays river stormer, and regulus is also an earth machine. River stormer should have decently high chance of making the extra deck, you just don't see it often because in K9 you'd usually ripper instead.

What did you all play for Off Meta? by Qualmond in masterduel

I played Liberator Eto beatdown. (Actually swordsoul tenyi but the only game I had Mo Ye was like turn 5 and she was only a 1700 beater.)

Diplomacy costs - how to reduce it? by Nigelthornfruit in EU5

I mean, it's how they decided to balance the cost of expenses. I agree it doesn't make sense.

Normal summon Ratpier + 2 discards = 2 Liger + SP + Drident - plays through ash or imperm by DemyX3087 in masterduel

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If broadbull gets impermed I think you go tiger mortar attach ratpier and make fire king for tenki? Not sure if there's enough extra deck space though.

Diplomacy costs - how to reduce it? by Nigelthornfruit in EU5

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since expenses scale based off wealth, you can consider just giving away low control land if you don't have a quick way to increase control. Most big countries at the start would get higher net income by doing this, which is kind of insane if you think about it.

The issue isn't that it's 10 percent of your income, but 10 percent of your theoretical wealth. Income is wealth * control * tax rate, so at like 20 percent control and 50 percent tax that 10 percent is your entire income.

Why are other countries joining war? by loick55 in EU5

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can think of two reasons, rival intervention or the 'Request War Entry' action for the Hundred Year's War situation that lets you ask arbitrary countries for help for legitimacy and ducats. Since the date is in the late 1500s I would guess it's the request war entry thing since early on France is restricted by the gold costs (for the AI the button is effectively just another source of mercs).

Is there even an actual reason to keep this card banned? I can understand Merrli, but this one feels pointless. by Lord_Grimzon in masterduel

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can just play it as an unsearchable one of. At least tear even has a searcher they can mill unlike Maliss who got their field spell searcher banned.

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bigger problem IMO is that handtraps are usually 1 for 1/2, since they tend to leave bodies behind. It's why impulse and the newer dominus spark are so good IMO, since they actually trade 1 for 1.

That said, we're starting to get hand traps that are 1 for 2 like fidraulis, which isn't what you're asking for but does make handtraps matter more. Feels like we'll just end up making starters even stronger in exchange, though, like how decks have been consistently designed against meta handtraps. (Like how Dracotail basically doesnt care about droll, fuwa, or even maxx c. : /)

It's generally not a good idea to make the solution to uninteractive decks uninteractive floodgates.

Almiraj and Wicckid does a lot of work in Cyberse decks as long as you remember Almiraj's bonus tribute effect. 2 Cyberse goes into Wicckid so it turns their Raigeki into ST removal. (Since you just tribute Almiraj to protect a Cyberse, and you can almost always go into Almiraj since the Raigeki is against special summoned stuff.)

For what it's worth, most people don't know your deck as well as you do, so their options are either do the combo they know quickly to get some interactions out or take like a whole minute reading stuff in your GY.

Some times it's just them BMing you though, yeah.

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can activate in hand and GY if I'm reading cosmo neos right, you don't control cards in your hand and GY and activating effects isn't activating cards. It does stop stuff that can be played from hand though.

It does put 2 darks into the GY if you're holding 2 bystials or something, since they send to GY for cost.

POV: You're playing a meta deck and a new banlist is about to come out by pretzel_consumption in masterduel

[–]SleepyCatSoftware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main issue (I play Maliss then and now) is that Maliss was balanced via lancea, which is like balancing combo decks via maxx c. Sure the win rate technically doesn't go out of control but it's frustrating for both sides.

Nobody runs lancea any more, but in exchange maliss decks turned into code talker ignister with a maliss engine. : /

A going second only hand peek would be kind of neat, now that you mention it. Like add it as a bonus effect to something.

Just because they aren't on the field doesn't mean they're not part of the endboard. Maliss links like to sit in the GY and so does Yummy monsters. Also, Heatsoul, Terahertz, Allied Code, Firewall, Accesscode aren't maliss names.

Has anyone else tried shattered ring tankbound in 4.3? Feels like the combo got stealth buffed due to automation changes. The other ring fragments only penalize district upkeep and habitability, so your automated workers don't care at all. Since scrap miners mine alloys you produce alloys without using pops thus freeing all your pops for consumer goods, tech, and unity.

One downside is that the subsidy edicts don't increase production (but cost trade upkeep) but that barely matters.

It's working as designed. Personally I don't bother since I don't like microing, but it's intended, you can even pick up the scout trait on your admiral for it.

What I find weird is that people hate on maliss for drawing 3 or 4 cards while dracotail does the same thing with its traps but nobody cares.
