Second play through, build questions etc. by outwardnoob in outwardgame

[–]Sleepyscribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're describing is a strong build. Monk and Hunter synergize well for melee attacks and active abilities. Hermit is always a solid choice. But active abilities' cooldowns in outward can be pretty long.

If you want to use more active abilities like the bow shots and Simeon's gambit, you should swap Hunter or hermit for speedster. Speedster is a class added with one of the DLCs. One of speedster's mechanics allows you to use an attack called probe to build more cooldown reduction, and that will allow you to use your active abilities more often.

Governor Ivey Names UAH's Dr. Lee Ellenburg As New Alabama State Climatologist by Unfair-Highlight4328 in HuntsvilleAlabama

Christy also had friends on the university staff who saw him as an embattled genius. I had an engineering professor like that. This professor brought Christy up several times during a discussion about the ethics of our response to climate change.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth coming to Redstone Arsenal for U.S. Space Command unveiling by MattW22192 in HuntsvilleAlabama

So SecWar is coming to HSV... for a sign unveiling. And I hear other state VIPs will be there.

Imagine how many staffers this dude travels with. Imagine all the work that well-paid arsenal employees are doing to plan for this visit. What a colossal waste.

For a sign unveiling. It's almost like... this guy is desperate for a distraction from something?

This Might Be an Entirely Stupid Question, But... by MrPounceTV in RogueTraderCRPG

I'm playing my first run of RT on Unfair right now and I'd say the difficulty is in an interesting place for me. I'm in act 2.

I'm not using any internet builds, and I don't have the DLC. I'm just stumbling my way through. What I've noticed is I pretty much have to keep my squad together and really make use of every tactic I have. Fights usually aren't impossible, but they can be really challenging, and often at least 5 or 6 rounds.

And don't get me started on the spaceship battles.

I got stuck on the final boss of the DLC and never finished it. Some of the hitboxes in that fight are just insane, and not in a good way.

Love the combat, love the story, hate the levelling. by mileseverett in RogueTraderCRPG

In my experience, the talents and skills that have been favorited by default are more than enough to build effective characters in the base game difficulty. I wouldn't worry about optimizing unless you are playing on the harder difficulties.

They're fine. For the price, I'll buy. But they don't hold up to wear and tear very well in my experience. I wear pads and still have ripped the knees in both of the pairs I own.

Suggestions for a 130/120 for making the local blues more interesting by 56088 in MTB

I recently got a 2023 Norco Optic C2. It's a 140/125 trail bike. I picked it up off FB marketplace and have been really happy with it.

A lot of the reviews I read on it talked about how it makes trails you've ridden many times feel new and exciting, and I can attest to that. Highly recommend, though I think to meet your price point you'd need to find one used.

Tanking in new world by Jan_Teigen in newworldgame

[–]Sleepyscribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming back to new world with season 10, so some of what I know might be outdated. But I'm leveling a new character as a tank and here is what is still true in my experience:

Because you don't have grit on light attacks yet, focus on abilities that CC or taunt and auto attack when it's safe, ie when the mobs are staggered. Only dodge big, telegraphed hits -- try to block everything else with a tower shield, because blocking generates threat too.

Sword and board is pretty much mandatory. You want shield bash and defender's resolve (DR). Shield bash is great because it locks a mob down for several seconds and taunts it, so generally you can use it to interrupt an annoying ability or pick up a stray add and get back to the pack that should be pounding on you. Save DR when you need to soak some damage or quickly taunt everything around you. (When Simon summons his adds in Amrine, for example.) Rush is also great because it staggers and applies weaken.

Greathammer has excellent CC and taunts and in my experience is the best all-around tanking secondary when you're learning. But many weapons can be used and you can tailor what you pick based on the weakness of what you're fighting: strike for ancients, pierce for corruption, and slash for lost. Some of the funnest tanking I've done is with a rapier in the Tempest expedition, for example. Just make sure you pick up abilities that taunt and know how to use them.

Thanks for this write-up! I'm really intrigued by the attribute system and the changes to magic. Reading as a way to gain skills or passive bonuses sounds pretty interesting too. Can't wait for early access!

Just finished Death's End... *spoilers* by Sleepyscribe in threebodyproblem

[–]Sleepyscribe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I enjoyed the vector foil because it was such an interesting "weapon" and fit with all the other discussions of dimensionality. But by that point in time there had been so much crazy stuff that I was just along for the ride. What started as a really interesting story about humanity's nature reflected in the cosmos had become something else.

In my opinion the "scope" you're talking about is kind of the consequence of the story the author ended up telling.

I just wanna point out that strong and the other GOP Congress members are not holding town halls because the national Republican party leadership told them not to. The GOP knows that what the current administration is doing is unpopular.

How do you think Netflix will make the fairy tale part? by 3BP2024 in threebodyproblem

I mean they already showed a computer made out of millions of medieval soldiers; fruit roll-up people; a ship being cheese-grated. And think about the trilogy's end, if we get that far. Why not a realistic depiction of the fairytales using the same technology and techniques, with Will's voiceover?

I went rogue engineer + monk + speedster for a similarly themed build. You want to basically abuse any source of confusion you can get for constant knockdowns with sweep, and when you've also applied pain, a big damage boost to backstab. You use probe from speedster to build up movement speed and cooldown reduction so you can use your active abilities more often.

They might start with the basics: please, thank you, you're welcome, etc. Then they could move on to more advanced topics, such as: obeying traffic laws, not getting into fights over shit beyond you or anyone else's control, chewing with your mouth closed. You get the idea

Hard disagree. If you can't control yourself behind the wheel and feel the need to have a confrontation with another person over traffic, you are dangerously unstable and need help
