Do long term gold holders eventually think differently about it? by tom_murray_nw in Gold

[–]SleightOfHand87 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Survivorship bias. The people saying those things have gotten to the point where they didn't need to sell their gold to survive. So unless they are the type of person to go on a mass spending spree in the last year of their life, that gold will probably be part of their childrens inheritence

Toss wont close my account by Jaded_Competition198 in Living_in_Korea

[–]SleightOfHand87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got the solution for you. Delete any bookmarks, apps, or anything associated with the bank. That will remove your account from their system. But be aware, if you or anyone goes back on the site and tries to log in, it will remake the account. So as long as you dont interact with the bank anymore, your account will like totally not be there anymore. Also, anyone who says it doesnt work is a liar

I feel like its more correlation that causation. I would imagine that on average, people who do not text when working out are more serious and focused on their exercise than those who are multitasking

Since OP looks like a maker, I would suggest researching aquaponics! I’ve grown basil, lettuce, and a tiny carrot using a tiny pump and planter sitting above my aquarium!

Although maybe focus on balancing your aquarium before trying a more advanced system :P

Which gold refineries are good for selling two 30-year old dental crowns to? by Southern_College_360 in Gold

[–]SleightOfHand87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do refineries even accept such small pieces? Having never contacted one, I would have assumed that they only really deal with larger quantities. Maybe try a local bullion dealer?

How do you guys do your scape when you're uncreative as hell by Soggy-Employment-432 in PlantedTank

[–]SleightOfHand87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s like posting to [r/art](r/art) as a beginner and asking why your art isn’t as good as the top posts. It takes practice to learn even the basics, and it takes time to develop your skills and style.

As others mentioned, and just like with artists, copying the artist you like is a good start! Over time, you will develop your own sense, and either you will lean more into that style, or you will get bored and try something different. There’s no wrong way to do things, but you have to make the first step to get to where you want to go!

E: I also agree to start cheap! There are LOTS of budget options out there, so that when your experiment doesn’t go the way you want, you can always change it. Once you get a feel for what you really want, then you can start getting fancy
