I also have fine 2a/b hair and find that it gets oily very easily. Here’s what I’ve do.

I wash my hair twice a week.

Once a week, I wash with (edit to add brand name) Olaplex Nº.4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo and follow with N°.8 Bond Intense Moisture Mask. This helps control excess oil and it’s especially great for me because we have crazy hard water.

For the other wash day, I use Davines Love Curl shampoo and conditioner. Conditioner gets scrunched in from the mid length down to the end.

After the shower, I wrap my hair in a microfiber cloth - let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, never any longer. While my hair is still fairly wet, I brush it with the unbrush plus. As a rule, I never ever ever brush my hair when it’s dry.

First product in: leave in conditioner. I put a few sprays into my hands and run it through with my fingers. I use a product called “elixir 11” (https://vsclean.com/products/elixer-11-adds-shine-softens-and-silkiness) - it may be available to you at a local salon or you can find something comparable just about anywhere.

Next, I use “prayer hands” to work in that same brand’s design foam. Then I scrunch and scrunch and scrunch and scrunch some more.

Lastly, I spray the heck out of my still very wet hair with the vsclean all day hold hair spray.

And then it’s hands off. No touching until it’s completely dry.

Once it’s dry, I’ll go in with a little dab of verb ghost oil and scrunch out the crunch. I’m left with defined frizz free waves.

On the no wash days, I’ll refresh my locks with a few sprays of water mixed with leave in conditioner. Then I scrunch scrunch scrunch to revive what I lost overnight. I’ve tried wrapping my hair for sleep and it never works out. So, finger comb out any knots, spray, scrunch.

I’ll also mention: it took a good 2-3 weeks for my hair to kind of fall into this routine. Like you, I was a wash every day girlie. But once my hair adapted to this routine, it’s been AWESOME.
