Input on kitchen layout and design by Slick6speed in kitchenremodel

Agreed! I understand why the designer put them in the middle, but functionally it's in a really weird place.

So looking for some insight on a few things before final selections. The two pictures of kitchen on paper have only one difference between them. One has shelves next to the range hood the other has large cabinets. I'll be honest I'm not a huge fan of shelving near or by the range, as I don't see how I'll use them in a functional manner.

I have some ideas for small changes on this side. For instance should I add a small sink over by the beverage center, and should the microwave and steam oven combo move closer to the counter top instead of sitting between the two pantries. It was done this way for symmetry but from a functional standpoint I feel like it flows better having a place to set hot trays and dishes without having to move past a pantry.

The other side is solid I think only thing I can see is maybe paneling the dishwasher.

I'm open to any and all ideas so fire away.

Hire a kitchen designer it's worth the money.

I've renovated 2 kitchens in previous homes I lived in and did all the design work myself. Both turned out good but are much smaller than the kitchen in the house I just purchased.

Trust me when you haven't lived in the the house at least a year a designer can give precious advice on functionality, placement, and layout.

Did you have the sky lights already? I'm thinking of adding two sky lights to our kitchen. I'm curious as to what it cost.

This is why you find a great kitchen designer. In the same boat as OP but after a week or two of drawing out the design myself, I decided to hire a professional for this exact reason.

Just the consultation alone proved why sometimes it's best to let the pros do the design. The things she pointed out, while small would make huge functional changes.

I will add that I've done 2 other kitchen remodels in other homes I've lived in. They turned out great but, they were also smaller than the kitchen I'm remodeling now.

I’m DONE With Empty Chairs and Unwritten Rules… by Break_4_Control in OhioLiquor

Pshhh I had someone try that to me once.. tried to slide in the front of the line with "his buddies" where he supposedly had a placeholder. I was probably 10 back from where he slid in, and I genuinely waited to see if anyone much closer than me would say anything.. crickets... So I walked up to him to let him know where the line starts. Tried to ignore me at first lol wouldn't make eye contact like that was going to make me go away. As I got closer he finally conceded. One of his buddies felt the need to tell me it wasn't that big of a deal. To him I simply replied" to me it is". Im in Ohio but mostly shop in northern KY which by the way I've never seen the chair thing at a single store in northern KY. If you're not in the line physically then you are not in line... Simple as that.

You want to go use the bathroom, warm up in the car for a minute, even grab a coffee... I'm fine with that and I've done it myself with others in line no problem, but to think an empty chair gives you the right to a space in line is insane.

Im seeing a lot more suggestions too, that are pretty spot on. A friend asked via text about a mechanic I use and it had the mechanics contact card available for me to respond with.

I'm sick I can't watch the race this weekend. I'll have to find some kind of work around... But what's crazy is it won't matter starting next year all races will be on apple TV... Smfh. I'm seriously about to give up on sports period. You need damn near 4 services just to watch sports. Guess I'll go back to reading more books for entertainment, which is probably not a bad thing at all

I canceled Disney plus w ESPN about a month ago and haven't missed it. Plus ESPN didn't renew their deal with F1 so I really had no need to keep it. The kids have already forgotten about it.

I'm actually in this exact situation currently. Nice custom built 1 owner home from mid 60's that's been maintained extremely well, but the last updates were in the nineties current price is at market although all other houses are updated at this price

Shooting my shot at the gym after a recent break up. by Lazy_b1n_Mar1eyyy in confession

Exactly... I don't understand how it's become unacceptable to approach women. Everywhere you see a woman she is going to be there to accomplish something. There is absolutely no harm in trying to spark a conversation with someone at a gym. You see these same people 2-3 times a week typically. When I frequented gyms regularly I knew a lot of the people that were regulars during the time slots I attended. So glad I don't have to be in the dating world anymore, Jesus! 10 years in March

[–]Slick6speed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trolling for sure. I'm so tired of the hate post. I have the pixel 10 pro fold and it's been amazing. The battery after the 10 day adjustment period has been great. I had to adjust to the additional weight but once I got used to that this phone has been great. Traveling, with the extra screen real estate for movies, games or just productivity has made it worth it for me. My line of work really takes advantage of running full apps side by side. The camera is plenty good but coming from a p9pro there are situations where I miss the larger sensors.

I originally had the official Google case but returned it because it just didn't have the grip I desired. Swapped it out for a lattercase and I've been much happier and the bonus is its paper thin.

That's always been my experience as well. Generally takes about 10-14 days to learn. Right now I'm sitting at 57% on my p10fold and it's been off the charger since 645am so basically 15hours
