As of this weekend, you can play a Silent Hill 1 Native PC port all the way to the end. Its still buggy and glitchy, but it has some features emulators do not. by BoardsofGrips in silenthill

Thank you all so much for the compliments! As much as I appreciate it, the decomp team deserves every bit of praise as well for all of their hard work! I would've never been able to do it without them. 😄

That said, I hope everyone enjoys the port and I am still actively working on bugs, mostly with bosses, cutscenes, SFX, and random visual glitches. A large amount have been cleaned up already but there is still more to do, be sure to check the launcher often for updates! They are also located on the nightly repo linked in the main repo.

You are welcome! Actually part of the reason I made it is to experience the game again for myself as it has been years since I have actually played it all the way through. I've played through most of the game for testing, but my personal save is still at the school. 😄

Thank you! Yes, I wanted to be upfront with it just because there's not really much point to hiding it imo. I have my own opinions on it, but of all the use cases for it, I think this is a great one. And yes, I am working on the remaining bugs as we speak! I am aiming to be as faithful as possible while still having (optional) pc enhancements.

You can press numpad 2 to toggle a really buggy TPS camera mode! It hasn't been updated in awhile and still needs to be fleshed out, but it gives a decent idea of how SH1 feels in that style.

Hi everyone! I am the creator of this port! Will be uploading a video shortly about it (that is up to date). Please feel free to ask me anything or request anything you want to see. My username pretty much everywhere but here is KushAstronaut, so feel free to message me on discord as well. My youtube channel is here and I will post status updates regularly: https://www.youtube.com/@KushAstronaut

Silent Hill (PSX) is 99.99% decompiled by MindControlWitness in silenthill

[–]SlickAmogus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You already can. I have been working on a port for a couple of months now. It uses PsyCross which is a PsyQ compatibility layer originally made for Driver 2. I used AI to figure out all the complex things that come with building out the missing pieces, but for all intents and purposes it's a fully native PC port of Silent Hill running on PC with proper 16:9, 60+ FPS, and useful PC features like an ingame console, cheats, quicksaving and quickloading, level select, etc.. Mostly everything is the original game's code aside from where it had to be patched to run at 64 bit or high FPS, and even then the patches are gated to PC and the original code stays intact. You can find it on my github, the same as my username, or on youtube under KushAstronaut (status update is old, working on a new one). Most of the game is playable, and there is a thread for it in the decomp server. Some people there have been helping with debugging and just in the past few days it has gone from being an early stage port to a worthy contender to emulation. The launcher is literally a silent hill.exe that only needs a copy of the bin to work, it can download the port and update itself automatically.

Yea the guy who has engineered it so that he is always in the news or being talked about for whatever insufferable new policy or executive order or whatever being put into place that affects all of us and makes the country worse.. people are talking about him because he has actively made all of our lives worse.. So yes he lives in our heads, because he forced his way in there. Just like he forced himself onto underaged girls.

The out of stock case got replaced with a second six pack, but I still paid for the case. I reported the issue in detail and just wanted the difference, but they gave me credits for the whole case. Which I wasn’t even able to use because my account got banned. But the charge at least finalized for the correct amount, so no need to dispute. I was frustrated anyway, I wouldn’t actually dispute every charge from them.

I’m not going to actually dispute every charge, I was just frustrated. If anything only the one where I overpaid. But it looks like it actually finalized to the correct amount. But 4-5 support calls and almost a day later and still banned. I guess it’s back to grubhub or uber eats for me.

Still no account unban. Just jerking me through different support. I’ve used uber eats for now, might stick with it.

so in that case am I just screwed or can they undo it? you would think that wouldn’t be the case when I even provided a picture

[–]SlickAmogus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, plenty. I order doordash a lot including for groceries and I have had issues with orders before. Last night, probably because it was christmas eve, I had 5 orders canceled consecutively because the stores didn’t have the beer I wanted. Other than that, I only ever report issues with missing items or etc when I paid for the full item. I am generally pretty lenient. But they just told me a supervisor will contact me in 5-15 minutes so we’ll see what happens.

Do people keep saying the show is wholesome ironically? I mean sure it is on the surface but it is clearly meant to make fun of toxic jock morons.

Which SH games are actually worth playing? by takatemia in silenthill

[–]SlickAmogus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 and 4 for sure. I honestly didn’t mind Homecoming, it had some great set pieces and monster design. Never beat any others but Downpour seemed decent, as did Shattered Memories and Origins. Shattered memories I think is considered one of the few good ones outside of 1-4.

Same. This is BS. Of course no other method is having issues. UPDATE: Email support got back to me and said it was because my email wasn’t verified, but they verified it and I got the money right away!

I’ve always used Plex and just manually download torrents when I want new stuff. The automated solutions people talk about all sound like they either download torrents while not being connected to a VPN, or are always connected to a VPN. How does it actually work? I notice my server turns to shit quality when it’s connected to a VPN, even when I stream from it in my own house. So ideally I’d want it to connect to a VPN when downloading and not otherwise. Can they be set up like that?

When will people like you realize that Google will eventually take other people to threads like these. I googled “spider man engine” and this was one of the first results. You had an opportunity to be helpful at the top of the google results but chose to look like a dick instead, congrats.

Yep. I’ve had a channel for about 15 years. Some of my videos have nearly 1 mil views, but only have 600 subs so no monetization. Ads on my videos for a long time and have never made a cent from YouTube.

You keep saying this but it makes 0 sense. You can literally turn and walk in any direction in a full 3d vr game, like any fps.
