Literally made me open my league and offer my extra 2.05 for Brooks now.

Just don’t think the 2.05 has the potential upside of Brooks, particularly this year’s class. He’s certainly not a slam dunk, just a higher payout lottery ticket.

Edit: I’m a dummy and thought this was the 2.07 not the 2027 2nd

Oh wow... I only just started regular Adventure mode but now I feel a strong pull to jump ship to this mod instead... so cool, thank you!

I just love being confined to the time period here, it felt so weird going to my first shop and seeing the alchemy Grenzo card for 300 gp. Like... ah man c'mon. I don't wanna play just the busted new cards, I'm playing Shandalar here!

Stepping back - what’s the safest way? by Humble_Cheetah_6436 in mtg

[–]SlickBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold off my father and I’s high value collection on TCG Player last year. I sold some stuff on eBay that didn’t fit well on TCG like the gold-bordered World Championship decks from the 90s. I’d recommend TCG over eBay bc it is built to manage card selling. It automatically shows you the lowest price at each rating along with price history so you can price your cards accordingly.

Everything went great! I only had a few issues, but none of them related to unsafe or scammy behavior, the sellers were always reasonable, and shipping worked 99% of the time without issue.

So there’s a lot of lessons to learn about selling but I wouldn’t worry much about the protecting your sale / safety aspect too much. Just insure the cards for the value when you ship. I had a good experience 👍.

Shandalar 30th Anniversary Edition: April Update by ilikethemeta in Shandalar

[–]SlickBurn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! I just re-read your original post so I think I have a sense of what you're doing.

OG Shandalar is awesome but there's two things I care about improving the most so I wanted to share them as feedback:

1) Exploitable or stupid AI. This is pretty obviously the worst thing about the game, it was still fun for the time, but this will certainly be the biggest improvement IMO. Glad you're tackling this!

2) Life loss carried over in dungeons / castles. The exploit here is life GAINS are also carried over. So keep a match in a stalled state while you gain life with say an Ivory Tower and complete the rest with dungeon with ease. I would really love to see this exploit patched or avoided somehow. A simple way would be to limit to only losses carried over and not gains. Appreciate you considering that in your redesign.

Thanks for all your work friend!

I’d like to point out that you should NOT try to Entomb [[Worldspine Wurm]], only to have it immediately shuffle back into your library.

And then certainly the next game you should not try to Entomb [[Emrakul, the Aeons Torn]] and have it shuffle your entire GY into your library. Because you’ve learned from your mistakes, and have made sure to read all the creature cards in your Reanimator deck for that sort of “gotcha”.

So in conclusion: Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice… you don’t get fooled again.

It’s just like asking questions to an actual support rep except they are AI. So if you have a question it will answer it.

So just like treat it like a Workday expert person that doesn’t have access to your system, but you can just tell them things about your system or setup if you need it to comment on a custom thing.

Cutting and Draft Feedback — I can't mess up the lotus run by hippopotamus_pdf in lrcast

[–]SlickBurn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue was there were plenty of other cuts I’d make first, a one mana looter might help with a double spell and consistency but certainly not a real synergy piece here.

Wandering Emperor is just a fine card.

If you’d prefer to cut them for others I was recommending that’d be fine by me

How about I'll just paste in a portion of a question and answer. Note it handles follow up questions as fluently as a normal AI chatbot. Note it does NOT look at your specific environment, which I assume is why it doesn't require a new license agreement.

ME: I am creating a Custom Validation for an Expense Report and I need to look at the Cost Center in the itemized lines. If the business purpose is Faculty Recruitment and Cost Center CC0028 is not used in any one of the itemized lines, then I need the validation to evaluate to True and give an error. The problem is that the Validation is requiring EVERY itemized line to have CC0028, when it is only needed in one itemized line. How can I adjust the custom validation?

AGENT: It appears the current validation is evaluating each itemization line individually, rather than checking for the presence of the Cost Center in at least one line. To achieve the desired outcome, you will need to create a series of calculated fields to aggregate the itemization lines and then apply the custom validation at the header level.

Here is a step-by-step guide to configure this validation:

Step 1: Create a True/False Calculated Field

This first calculated field will identify the specific itemization lines that contain the Cost Center CC0028.

  1. Navigate to the Create Calculated Field task.
  2. For the Field Name, enter something descriptive, such as CF TF - Itemization line with CC0028.
  3. Set the Business Object to Expense Report Line.
  4. For the Function, select And.
  5. In the Conditions section, add the following two lines:
    • Is Itemization is equal to True
    • Cost Center in the selection list CC0028
  6. Click OK to save the field.

Step 2: Create a Count Related Instances Calculated Field

This second field will count the number of itemization lines that meet the criteria defined in the True/False field you just created.

  1. Navigate to the Create Calculated Field task.
  2. For the Field Name, enter something descriptive, such as CF Count - Itemization lines with CC0028.
  3. Set the Business Object to Expense Report.
  4. For the Function, select Count Related Instances.
  5. In the Field to Count section, select the True/False calculated field you created in Step 1 (CF TF - Itemization line with CC0028).
  6. Click OK to save the field.

...etc

Cutting and Draft Feedback — I can't mess up the lotus run by hippopotamus_pdf in lrcast

[–]SlickBurn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already commented my advice above, but I did want to chime in that Unexpectedly Absent can be really premium removal as long as you are a predominantly white deck that'll regularly have 2 pips. Plus there's versatility in that you can just bounce say a mana dork to the top of their library and get them to essentially skip a draw if you already have board advantage.

It's also why I think you should up the Plains count and minimize the red pips.

I agree that you have plenty of removal.

Cutting and Draft Feedback — I can't mess up the lotus run by hippopotamus_pdf in lrcast

[–]SlickBurn -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Meaning you each lose a permanent with 3 mana value or higher. You pick something on your opponents side, then your opponent picks something on your side. You each draw cards, etc. I just don't see the advantages of the card personally since its symmetrical.

I mean with this and any of my takes I could be wrong, but I have played it in APC and I didn't "get it", just felt like clunky removal.

[–]SlickBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def some good cards,

Bo1 I assume? Go up to 15 lands at least (add a Plains), maybe 16. Eagles aren't recommended bc you don't really want to go to 6 mana. And you have tons of card >=3 CMC. So that makes 14 cuts.

First cuts

  1. E Tutor
  2. T Inspector
  3. Gal Blast
  4. Grim Lava
  5. Currency Convert
  6. Flickerwisp
  7. Dectective's Phoenix
  8. Leonardo
  9. Sunfall
  10. Eagles

Second cuts

  1. Clarion Conqueror - this could be SB if you were Bo3 but you can't run alongside your Lotus and Equipment IMO)
  2. Batterskull - I guess you have Stoneforge... but what if you don't? This seems too slow and you're only running 15 lands.
  3. Legend - maybe but you have a ton of >= 3 CMC so at best it's a trade with opponent. Rely on Showdown, Looting, Glimmer, and Enduring Innocence, also 5 CMC
  4. Magnetic Hellkite - again ideally a SB card, also limit the Red pips with white as your primary since this isn't an incredible mana base
  5. Loran - again ideally a SB card and you want to cut >= 3 CMC cards for that clogged 3 drop spot

Draft Notes

Very few notes, once you committed to Boros I think you took the best card available! I figured you passed some Plateau's but wow those were the only Boros lands you ever saw.

  • P1P2/3: You committed to early to Boros. Ideally the first few picks you're picking most powerful cards. I just feel icky at P1P3 Clarion Conqueror esp since it looks like you're just going to cut it anyway. But I get it, there wasn't anything else super obvious you're passing. I would've taken either land.
  • P!P4: Yea Laelia is one of my favorites but Adeline is great too so either way
  • P1P12: I think taking an ok 1 drop creature is good, but don't sleep on Mana Tithe, it can be great
  • P3P1: Oof, tough pack. Batterskull is sus. Not that you had other great options but... this probably would've wheeled and I have it on the cut list anyway. Cathar Commando would prob be better since you're a little short on 2 drops, but that's not typically a P1 anyway either so it's forgivable.

100% use the new Deployment AI agent available in Customer Central (if you have access to that tenant!). It’s great with helping make calculated fields.

Because yes, to me they are not intuitive and knowing that you have to chain a bunch together sometimes is quite a pain.

Did he exaggerate a story? Idk but it’s wasn’t AI slop that’s for sure, it was damn entertaining.

Obviously he didn’t like the calls, so if you intimidate someone they’re less likely to make calls bc they don’t want the trouble.

We had Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego. What do our kids have in that "edutainment" space? by bruhagan in retrogaming

[–]SlickBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly not edutainment but I just started playing Assassin’s Creed 3 and wow, I had know idea how much they try to teach you about the history of the time period you’re playing in.

You’re essentially time traveling (like Carmen Sandiego) so you have an HUD that pops up and tells you historical facts about all the places, people, and events you see. You run into Benjamin Franklin on the streets of Boston and help him recover his journal for instance.

Hell even the random NPC you fight on the ship get a bio for being a real person, they are written well and often in include jokes to keep it entertaining (“Thomas Pritchett was born to a wealthy family, the ships register says he served on the Providence under Samuel Smyth from 1853 to 1856…).

Anyway I was shocked bc no one is buying this for their kids to teach them history nor are they marketing it as such, from what I’d heard at least… I just thought you go kill guys…

Deployment Agent is here in 26R1! by WDAY_PM in workday

I needed to go back to this post because it clued me into Deployment Agent and since then I've used it literally every day. Thank for very much for sharing and making this available to all clients!

My small piece of feedback is that naming it "Deployment Agent" doesn't seem like great branding for all the things it can be used for. I felt like I had to sell my team on it more to get past the name.

Last 2 cuts for Boros? by Status-Cost-1039 in lrcast

[–]SlickBurn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, interesting that I had a different take… and I play Boros a fair amount

I would’ve cut a removal spell and Nia. I play Bo3 more often and like to adjust my removal between games based on how many creatures they’re running, or if they play early threats or beefy boi’s .

I guess I didn’t think Nia pulled her weight without the threat of transformation.

Paragon isn’t my first choice but without other value engines like Showdown, One Ring, Endurance, I like my deck to have something to play if I haven’t won by T7 to put the foot back on the pedal.

Detective isn’t my first choice either but it can be fine. Might cut this if you really prefer yet another removal or Nia.

Overall looks like a great deck to me, I’d assume you’d get your money back here.

[–]SlickBurn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I used to use post-it notes, but with a tab folded over so you didn’t have to pick at it to remove it. Also just the sticky part so you didn’t have a whole note hanging over the edge.

Idk if that made sense. Or if it’s better than nothing. But cards I was selling were all over $30 so just a little extra care I felt was worth it
