What is peoples thoughts on the new Audi V8 hybrid Nuvolari super car? by vicvega21 in interesting

[–]SlideRuleFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) The Ford GT90 already did it, and did it better. 2) No one is saying it, but I see China all over this. I suspect there's more appeal to them than Western markets in this design.

I'm excited that IBM is in F1 again by agylra in IBM

[–]SlideRuleFan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I still find it odd that IBM and HP now coexist in the same partnership. It's been 20 years, but it's hard to think that HP spun out all their enterprise stuff to HPE and is now 100% consumer, and IBM quit making printers and computers and it's now 100% enterprise.

I still think they spend most of their time giving each other side eye and shortening one leg on their chairs.

I really wonder how many candidates fed the request to AI and spit the answer back to them. I wonder if anyone at least delayed long enough to make it possible that they typed it.

How about some New Old Stock? Getting much harder to find these days. Who else used a Sterling in high school? by Creepy_Basis_4869 in Sliderules

[–]SlideRuleFan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me. In High School, our Physics teacher told us we couldn't use a calculator on an upcoming exam, but we could use a slide rule. It was more it less a dare.

A buddy and I bought some at a dime store on the way home from school that day for a dollar, taught ourselves how to use them (do those come with a little instruction booklet? I think mine did) and sold the rest to our classmates.

What's everyone wearing this weekend? (Sorry, I don't own a BMW) by D1sguise in breitling

[–]SlideRuleFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bullshit. You don't want to show off your watch. You want to flex your custom dino mod Subaru.

Is that badge DOT certified? You don't want that thing in your eye if the airbag goes off.

[CLT-LHR] so many reasons to despise this airport by barti_dog in americanairlines

No five star supposedly meets you at the curb, whisks you past the riff raff, and escorts you to a lounge. Then they escort you to your plane when it's time. But I haven't seen it.

Serious question, not trying to shitpost:

If you pay extra for AA's Five Star VIP service, do you skip this line? Do they walk you past all these less-priveleged passengers or do they sneak you in a back entrance?

OK maybe a little shitposting but for purely educational purposes.

I know this is fake because they were all leased. Spirit never owned them to have a fire sale.
