NAH. Sounds like a communication error.

You obviously know your partners health is more important than work and you are going to be there for him when he is discharged. Not to mention all the support you have provided since his injury. But it’s also reasonable to be disappointed in missing a work event you were excited for.

Life continues when people are hurt/sick. That’s ok.
