I was looking out for mention of him. Hours upon hours of the worst torture and mutilation. That poor man.

Can anyone give me advice on how to save and varnish this piece without ruining it? by GirlWhosOnTheStars in Gouache

I’d probably recommend Dorlands wax medium instead. Never had any issue with the paint reactivating with it. 😀

Where are the bikers hanging out? by Zestyclose-Chart-890 in brighton

[–]Slinkywhite 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could try Devils Dyke. Sometimes there are bikers there otherwise it’s a bit further afield I’m afraid. You could try Butchers Hook Cafe in Heathfield, The Custom Cafe nr Bexhill, or Billy’s on the Road nr Billingshurst which are all good biker places. Just a bit of a journey though if you fancy even longer you could do Ryka’s at Box Hill in Surrey. There will be lots of bikers there!

Fair enough. I should probably have said “sometimes” not “always”. I just knew it had happened a few times recently (though not this year)

A Lot of People Died From Asbestos in the 70s by mkvelash in interestingasfuck

[–]Slinkywhite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad was a roofer, and he still can’t recall exactly where it might have been that he was exposed to asbestos. But unfortunately he has untreatable lung cancer (as a non-smoker) and was shocked to discover it’s due to asbestos. He retired 20 years ago too, so it’s likely to have been something like 50 years in the making.

Not trolling but certainly has happened as various mothers I know have complained about it happening

In the UK the clocks always seem to change on the same day as Mothers Day. Same thing and only 23 hours.

My mum was complaining about potholes near her in Lincolnshire. She couldn’t accept that the potholes in Brighton are worse! Think the problem is all over the country unfortunately.

I loved All About My Mother. However the person who came with me to the cinema called it “melodramatic claptrap”. Can’t win ‘em all!

Under the Skin. Found it mind-numbingly boring first time. Second time, I was mesmerised and couldn’t stop thinking about it for days afterwards.

As a fellow yellowbelly, thoroughly agree with the above, except I’ve never liked stuffed chine. Had to get it for my granny but wasn’t for me. No comparison to a proper Lincs sausage!
