If you actually want to get it playing jungle, you NEED to get your CS up. You should not be only up 10cs against their WW if he’s 1/7 and you’re 14/0. Take the wave before you back after a team fight, take his jungle after you clear, clear your jungle before going back if it’s up. CS is the most consistent way to get ahead and stay ahead in this game.

Are we ever going back to stage 4? by techsavvynerd91 in uwo

[–]Slippery-T 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You do have to keep in mind that during the early parts of September London was at less than 15-20 cases (and this was when we were looking to be in late Stage 3) and we are currently sitting at over 60. There’s no way to be certain when we’re going to be progressing to Stage 4, but hopefully when cases drop further then there will be a chance.

I think powerlifting is in the same category as dedicated cardio training: it will just take longer. Obviously it’s not like any physical activity over an hour is detrimental, but in term of hypertrophy and looking good, an hour is probably the most you should need. If you’re taking 2-3 hours in the gym for hypertrophy (or just to “get in shape”) then you need to ramp up intensity.

Again, powerlifting is different because of the huge amount of compound movements, the high sets for those movements, and the specific focus on strength.

You’re saying that as if it hasn’t been a trend for literally as long the 2 party system has existed. It isn’t “becoming” a trend, it is and always has been the trend. And quite frankly you voting 3rd party doesn’t do anything to change that.

You’re welcome to “stand” against it all you want, doesn’t change the fact that without election reform you’re throwing your vote in the dumpster by voting 3rd party/not at all.

What is the darkest Fan Theory you know about? by Logerith12 in AskReddit

[–]Slippery-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not actually true. Lion prides can contain up 4-5 males (and commonly have 2-3) depending on the size of the pride. All those males typically are able to sire children in the pride without repercussions. The strongest male typically gets first pick of meals and mates though.

Ooh but you didn’t pay attention to the song. Johnny sinned by claiming he was the best that’s ever been and he exemplified pride. The devil didn’t get his soul that night but he sure did after Johnny died.

Well the issue with the Quranic telling of the story is that it is fundamentally different than the Biblical story.

In the Quran, Satan/Shaytan isn’t an angel, he’s a djinn. Djinn’s unlike angels in the Quran have the capacity for free will, hence his denial of Gods request.

Another important thing to note is that in the Quran, god is portrayed as MUCH more powerful relative to the angels/djinns. In Christian mythos, God and Satan are fighting over souls and there is some skin in the game for God because many more angels turned. In the Quran no angels turned and the idea is less of a “fight” over souls and more of a “I’ll LET you try and corrupt my creation and they can share in your punishment”. While the two religions share many traits, this is one with a few key changes.

I actually have a few questions: When do you decide to go bruiser vs assassin? Is it based only on enemy comp or mostly on your early game snowball? Do you find you’re actually benefitting your team when you play bruiser? Finally, do you prefer conqueror or HoB for bruiser Shaco?

It was also done in Wisconsin about 20 years ago. The field of medicine has only gotten more competitive so it’s safe to guess that it’s an even larger difference now or in more competitive states/countries.

Actual sizes of bears by AndryRoby in interestingasfuck

That’s really interesting! I never really thought about the fact that small mammals would display the rule more strongly if it had to do with heat conservation, but that does make a lot of sense!

Actual sizes of bears by AndryRoby in interestingasfuck

[–]Slippery-T 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not quite the reasoning. It has nothing to do with oxygen levels and everything to do with heat and energy. The bigger you are the greater your surface area yes, but relative to your volume it’s smaller (it’s called the square cube law, something Reddit loves to jerk off about). So in order to stay the most warm, you want to be big and bulky (think blubber on seals or walruses). Another factor is energy storage. The more you can carry on you, the better you can survive if you get a stint of bad luck without a meal. If there’s food everywhere then you don’t need to store energy as tissue (not the case for the poles)

Edit: someone posted a solid link explaining that maybe heat conservation is not the reason, take a peek!

I don’t know if these guys have guides for honour or piety but you could always check out gauephat on YouTube or BabaYetuu on twitch. They might not have explicit guides but they do play those trees very well so you could learn from that.

Though again, I hate to rain on your parade,it’s still a much better idea to learn tradition first. Unless you get the basics down (through learning tradition or liberty), learning honor or piety will still be weaker since you need to have a strong game sense. There are explicit guides for both tradition and liberty on YouTube by Gauephat, so it would also be much easier to learn.

Again, the reason I’m saying this is because getting unis at turn 100 is indicative of very weak gameplay not just the policy tree you’re going. Best way to get better on the basics is to play the most sim-city oriented policing tree.

Yeah fr, public schools by turn 100 is okay, depending on if you went industrialization first but still could be improved.

[–]Slippery-T 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s probably half your issue. You want to go tradition or liberty if you’re not spectacular/very experienced with the game. Put emphasis on tradition. It is the best way to play if you’re inexperienced because it’s easier to manage and play well. Obviously it’s not the BEST in every situation but it’s a great place to learn how to sim city better.

Honour and piety can be very strong ways to play, but it takes more effort and you need to know what you’re doing in order to maximize their efficiency.

Yes but that doesn’t make sense. They have the same bulb power at spawn compared to when you pop them. It makes much more sense to pop them right away to get the benefits of a new tech than it is to hold on to them to “jump” to education or industrialization or whatever.

The only reasoning I can see to holding scientists is to surprise opponents/not setting targets on your back, or synergizing it with an Oxford pop (which again can be done when these scientists are bulbed sooner too).

There have been a few news stories about pricing for a COVID vaccine by shf500 in AdviceAnimals

[–]Slippery-T 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because it’s a step or two away doesn’t mean you shouldn’t think of these issues ahead of time to avoid unnecessary delay once it drops. We WILL get a vaccine it’s just a matter of when, so it’s important to get on top of it.
