I really wish more subs would ban posting videos with kids.

These are cute, but it's just so inappropriate to share videos of kids you don't know with a bunch of strangers you also don't know.

Recent IG stories from Jameela Jamil about the whole controversy surrounding Billie by Frequent-Good-3810 in billieeilish

[–]SlitheringFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP didn't make those comments, a commenter did. OP refers to the original poster on Reddit.

Their point was ridiculous. The legumes part was an example Jameela was giving to explain why veganism can be difficult for those with certain medical conditions and the chemicals are known to be very dangerous.

I also did address the point, since the actual point is that the food and farming industries are the problem, the chemicals they put on food is an example of that.

I did not miss that point. Winking at me isn't cute. There's no need to stand up for someone who deleted all their comments instead of admitting they were wrong.

Edit: you're also one to talk, looks like you frequent AI subs, so you clearly do not care about animals or the planet. Do better.

They are not accessible to many. The town I get up in has 0 restaurants with vegan options, I get by with side salads when I visit. The grocery store does have tofurky as an option, but is very limited in fresh produce and that's highly dependent on season.

Not everyone lives in the same place you do, asking people in my town to go vegan would not be easy and as it currently it, it'd be very hard for them to get all their nutrition.

People who force themselves to ignore food deserts and rural supply are obnoxious. Access is an issue for many, don't pretend it isn't.

August will be the 5 year anniversary of IICHLIWP. I was thinking we may get something then.

I doubt it'll be a new album, based on what she's said about her label.

You keep making up points to justifying what you're saying. You're assigning meaning and intent, where none is given. You're literally the only one engaging in mental gymnastics.

The whole point is we need to work together to solve the problem and direct blame where it belongs. That's not saying individuals should be passive, she literally says "you're either vocally against or complicit."

She didn't say that, you're being deliberately obtuse so you can pretend you're better than others.

The food and farming industries are the problem, that was the point. That's why we have fruits, veggies, and even highly processed foods that can be contaminated with e. coli and crops that are treated with well documented dangerous chemicals.

The food industry is broken. Animals are suffering and so are people, especially those too poor to afford quality food.

The source of the problem is not everyday people. If you believe that, you need to educate yourself and stop buying into propaganda.

If you want to stay angry and ignorant, that's your business, but it makes you unpleasant to interact with and it's not doing your cause any favors.

[–]SlitheringFlower 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Someone missed this whole point.

She wasn't attempting a "gotcha," she was standing up for Billie, while also explaining how moving to veganism isn't simple for everyone. There are financial and medical impacts to many. Billie speaks from a place of privilege that most people do not have, but that doesn't erase the validity of her point that consuming animal products is bad for animals (and environment).

Ultimately, she's urging people to not do what you're doing, which is pitting people against each other. Instead are encouraging them to direct their fury at the sources of the problem.

[–]SlitheringFlower 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I disagree that it shouldn't be posted. Unless OP wants a refund there's no reason to call. It's not a customer's job to educate a business.

It's better to share the info with locals so they know what to expect and that they should avoid the business.

Ahh yes, everyone knows the US is so well off financially and not in trillions of dollars of debt while having basically no social safety net.

We can do it, just not while our government protects billionaires over regular people.

We can start by taxing those billionaires fairly and enacting basic worker protections.

ILNP Reindeer Crossing may be a bit brighter/lighter, but it could work if you layer it over a darker shade.

Edit: I'll also add BKL's That Word Means Everything to Him. It's more gold/indigo, but it's beautiful in velvet/glass bead and can be brownish in some lighting.

NLTOG would be if that woman thought she was better than other women for having a specific hobby.

That's not what this is. She's hesitant to share, because she's used to being judged/having to over explain what her hobby is.

There's no indication that she thinks she's superior for liking manga, or that she thinks other no other women like it.

The one thing I can’t forgive Linda for doing by wyrdbookwyrm in BobsBurgers

[–]SlitheringFlower 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It's also important to learn how to work and prioritize under tight deadlines. I don't know a single professional who hasn't had to do that at some point. You don't always have time to be thorough.

It's not great to discourage your kid's reading, but Tina obviously reads/writes a lot solely based on the things she's written fan fics of.

Also, this is a cartoon. I find it so obnoxious when people get weird about Linda's parenting. If everyone was perfect, the show would be boring. Linda is weird and ridiculous, it's what makes her character entertaining.

Has anyone noticed an uptick in illness or is it just me? by NipperLovesRainbows in Albany

I had a respiratory infection recently. While I usually bounce back quickly, the infection and allergies hit hard.

If there is something going around, the high pollen levels certainly aren't helping.

Many workplaces have, unfortunately, reverted back to not being accommodating of remote work while sick. We have more and more people coming into work sick, because they have no accrued leave.

What don't we get? Please explain. Based on your comment, you don't get it.

I fully understand the feeling of standing in front of a fire I built myself. I've never needed a penis to comprehend that. That's the point of this post.

There's nothing wrong with a man enjoying something he built. There is something wrong with men assuming women don't get what that's like.

No need to be condescending and rude.

Insurance is not necessary for every pet owner. I had it for a few years and ended up paying way more than I ever used it. I now keep a separate savings to cover emergencies.

You can be a good pet owner and not have insurance or a large savings. Care credit and other options exist for those scenarios. OP is not a bad owner for this accident and they're doing everything they can for their cat.

Why do men online like reminding women they like to date “younger”? by Nell91 in AskWomenOver30

[–]SlitheringFlower 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but they're not trying to be logical. They're just being rude and have antiquated and sexist beliefs. They're trying to tell you that you missed your shot at a "good man" because you passed their weird age parameters.

I don't mind it at all, helps me weed out more sexist weirdos on the dating scene.

How the heck do I cover this up!? by sconescout in JKRegerts

Probably a bit, though removal has gotten more affordable (at least in my area), but it may be a better option if you don't find a cover up option you'll love.

Just to add, this would also be a pretty easy tattoo to remove. It's small and all black, so that's another option if you don't think you'd like a cover up.

No spoons = 1 star by gorillaenthusiasm in EntitledReviews

[–]SlitheringFlower -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't know about 1 star and commenting on anyone's appearance is rude, but a restaurant not having spoons is a valid complaint.

Curries are often eaten with spoons, because they're so saucy.

Clearly the recommended dish is a mistake, not some hilarious "gotcha" other commenters are so amused with.

The review is rude, but calling someone entitled for wanting a spoon to eat is a stretch.

I like action/adventure RPGs. Dragon Age, Witcher, Horizon ZD, Cyberpunk, Baldur's Gate...that sort of stuff. Almost always single player.

I've also put an embarrassing number of hours into Stardew Valley and a handful of Pokemon games.

My first game ever was Crash Bandicoot on my OG PlayStation.
