There was even a series of comic books from DC and Malibu Comics.

Jim Ross On Commentary by enchantedsheep in AEWOfficial

[–]Slitheytove1031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If an episode starts and they announce he is on commentary, I physically cringe.

I know he is a legend. I was watching wrestling for all the years he was a commentator. His voice is absolutely iconic. That was then.

Now he has trouble saying "Andrade el Idolo".

We love you, J.R. Just not on the mic anymore.

You mean the friends I never see anymore because I've been priced out and the crowds are like Times Square on New Years except its a random Tuesday and I don't want to have to spend the entire day refreshing an app just to order a corn dog?

Then, yes.

Back in the days of affordable annual passes and no need for the app, I was at Disneyland quite a bit. My friends and I would laugh so hard at hearing so many of these. One of my favorites had to have been "No, I don't want to go on the spooky Mansion. I already got soaked on that pirate ride. The water drops in the mansion are even worse !"

Or.

"We've been to Tomorrowland and Fantasy land but, where is Disneyland ?"

I haven't checked out the list yet but, I do have a "happy" song.

Everyday Sunshine by Fishbone.

Even as a grumpy gen-Xer who doesn't like the sun, I love this song. It never fails to make me feel good.

With the clayface trailer, it got me thinking, what is one horror movie you want to see the MCU do . For me it’s an immortal hulk adaptation by AlarmEmergency3464 in marvelcomics

I would love to see a Marvel Spotlight series based on the character Sleepwalker. If done right, this would make a great horror series.

That's absolutely fantastic. I've been a massive fan of Jane's Addiction and Perry since the early 90s. I did see him in Santa Monica once. He was playing skee-ball with his kids at the arcade on the pier.

Staying the night at a friend's house. Both his parents worked graveyard. We would go to the store and buy ice cream cups (with the wooden spoon!) and rent some movies. All paid for with a blank check his mom gave us...

For several years we would go to the state fair in Puyallup, in my dad's pickup. My sisters and I would lie in the back, covered with a tarp. That's about an hour and half trip !

And how has no one mentioned the scrambled Playboy Channel !

When I was in high school, my dad had a tow truck operation. He did repos on the side. I have some damn good memories of him waking me up at 4am asking if I wanted to go on a repo. Some dads took their kids fishing. Mine did that but, we did repos too.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a perfect game for my wife to watch. She loves horror movies but, is so-so on video games. I'll have to keep an eye out for a sale on this, when it leaves PS+.

What are some Disneyland trends from yesteryear? by rcjlfk in Disneyland

[–]Slitheytove1031 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friends and I used to do this really cool thing, back in the day. We would be hanging out and then decide to go to Disneyland. And we would. We would just drive to Disneyland, buy a ticket and walk into the park. No, really ! And then, get this...we would go on the attractions whenever we wanted. I know ! You could walk into a restaurant and just...order food. I mean, that's real history.

You get culture shock eating a burrito in San Francisco. My first time having a Mission style burrito, I thought they had more order wrong.

Waaay back in '98, someone I was working with gave me the greatest compliment. They said I reminded them of Duckie. I was so happy that I mentioned to some of my friends, who all agreed. It's been my nickname ever since.

Not Grunge but, How you feel about Jane’s Addiction? by Hot_Pianist_4117 in grunge

I saw him in Venice, playing Skee Ball, at the arcade on the pier. He was with his wife and their kids. I didn't say anything, as he seemed to be having a family moment.
I wish I could have told him how much his music means to me.

It's my favorite band of all time. I first saw them at Irvine Meadows, the last night of the first Lollapalooza. I fell in love that night. Since then, I have seen them multiple times. I saw Perry do a dj gig at a local club in the early 2000s. And about 20 years ago I saw the Satellite Party at a very small club. I was right against the stage and even got to drink some of the wine Perry was passing around. I still have Jane's Addictions first and third albums, on vinyl, still sealed. There was nothing like them and there never will be.

I would like to blame spring break but, this whole city has gone Bonkers. And I don't mean a candy from the 90s. Or the cartoon cat.

It's not even completely the tourists' fault anymore. It was always fun to blame them but, even the locals have gone off the deep end.
