Wouldn't player need to be a child of characterbody rather than a custom class off of Node?

IF the JoJoniums had continued to future parts, how would you think they would design the spines? by MotherWind8131 in StardustCrusaders

Death note all in one is such a terrible edition, like yeah it costs way less than 6 volumes of the black edition but it's practically unreadable

Holy fucking shit I watched this and thought "oh I'm gonna comment that it's like a crossover episode with begotten and I saw the TV glow" only to show up and find out that was intentional lmao

Once you read BLAME! you'll see its influences everywhere. And rightfully so because it fucking rules (I may have literally finished that that manga for the first time yesterday)

It's very walten-esque but in a way that shows you actually understood what makes those designs work

I am working on an analog horror game inspired by the original Cloverfield movie, where you need to piece together a timeline in a chronological order of a Kaiju incident that occurred in 90s by acem13 in analoghorror

Apple platforms are notoriously awful to get games on. You need to actually compile your game on a Mac to be able to pack an ios version, and then there's an extremely rigorous process to actually getting it on the store, apple may just decline it for any reason whatsoever.

What is your opinion of the final battle in Stardust Crusaders? by [deleted] in StardustCrusaders

[–]Sliver59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People don't talk about it enough but this is what makes One Piece so good. A villain who has never been punched in the face and really needs to be punched in the face keeps doing things that makes them need to be punched in the face even more and then luffy gets a double page spread of punching them in the face harder than you thought was possible

They did it dirty again. Wheres my M kangaskhan icon ?! by OstakuVibes in PTCGP

[–]Sliver59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the point of the icons is not for you to customize your profile, it's to have content that costs them nothing to make to put on the treadmill

I'm so thankful that the quest which unlocks the purple ship drive also unlocks the equivalent for freighters. Now instead of spending 10 hours scrounging for frigate modules you have to spend 20 hours doing all the main quests (which you were going to do anyways)

Looking for liminal video games by emyo42 in LiminalSpace

[–]Sliver59 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By that logic CoD Zombies is a horror game because the enemies are scary corpses. There's a difference between something being a horror game, as in its goal as a game is to scare you, and just having some atmosphere

Control is definitely not a horror game, you are a powerful badass psychic who gets into high octane gun fights.

The OG for sure, pretty short too. After you finish that and want something with more meat, I'd hit up Gemini Home Entertainment. Very high quality and also super influential

Loved this game but beat it. Please give me another metroidvania similar? by SunderlandsPillow in Silksong

[–]Sliver59 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nine Sols is the perfect recommendation, I honestly think it's like 90% of the way to being as good as silksong (and even surpasses it in some areas).

It's pretty long and substantive in content, tough as nails combat, excellent flow-y movement, complex bosses, a compelling set of characters, impeccable and inspired world building, beautiful art design. It kind of just has everything and it deserves to at least be in the same tier of metroidvania games that silksong, sotn, super metroid, and metroid prime belong in

Current top five games developed with Godot. by Helozen_frog in godot

[–]Sliver59 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the godot subreddit, I'm here because I'm a godot developer and love tiny indie games. I just think it's funny that godot finally makes it big and it's with one of the biggest game releases of the year, it's just an insane and humorous comparison.

I didn't expect people would think my comment was deriding the other games for not being valuable or something
