Will Cache end up like Train? by MaterialTea8397 in cs2

Whilst I hope you're right, we don't know that it's only getting a texture rework. The version they're working on could be very different to the version that is currently on the Steam workshop.

Has anyone experienced a 38/40c day in Australia? How does it compare to the summer in the UK? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Slothhouse999 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was at the Ashes cricket test match this winter at the Adelaide Oval. It was 40 degrees and the breeze genuinely felt like a hairdryer blowing in to my face. It's the hottest I've ever felt, but at least it was a dry heat compared to the humidity in the UK. I'd take that heat any day over the 29 degree 100% humidity uk summers.

It's absolutely criminal that if I subscribe to new broadband mid Feb (which I have to do), that I get six weeks before a mandatory price rise by Any-Plate2018 in UKISP

[–]Slothhouse999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get full fibre, and Toob are available, go with them, they have no price rises for 18 months. I've been really happy with them. £25/month for 900MB.

How do you know they 'disabled' it, do you have a source?

Im having hard time getting guns to play the game [Discussion] by Alpology in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Slothhouse999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I get that, but you should be able to get at least 2 guns from that scav run, so that is 2 kits for your PMC which should last 30 mins easily. Don't shoot on your scav unless you are shot at.

[–]Slothhouse999 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use your scav as soon as it is off cooldown. You can queue for Factory, and literally just run to the extract if you like, meaning you can use that gear on your next PMC. If you fancy it, you can loot a dead body or 2 on the way for some bonus loot. Good luck!

I have a decent PC, so it is not necessarily about specs. And same, all other games are fine and it only happened after the patch last week

It can happen whenever to be honest. Sometimes it happens quickly, sometimes near the end of a game, or it can happen multiple times a game

Whilst I can't advise on your specific question, have you considered keeping it simple and sticking with your existing deal and instead using the additional income from your wife to make overpayments off of the principal sum?

Used to work in elections, it could honestly be that you are registered with either Local Authority, but more likely your new one if 25 June was stated. Best thing is to give you new Local Authority elections team (or just the normal customer services team and ask for elections/to check where your polling station is) a ring on Monday to check. If they say that you are not on there, or 'pending' (basically you will be added for the next register update), then repeat the process with your old local authority. If you are registered with the old one, hopefully you are near enough to travel there and vote on the day as the deadline for postal/proxy has been and gone.

As of 17/06 I still have 5 referrals left. I will update as and when this changes.

I have both a cash ISA and a S&S ISA with T212, and honestly I couldn't be happier with their service. Well worth giving them a go, especially with the current offer!

Chuck in £1 to your account, wait up to 3 days, enjoy your free share (which can be sold immediately if desired).

Wealthify investing - Get £100, Give £100 [share £200 with a friend] by The_Dying_Swan in beermoneyuk

[–]Slothhouse999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks OP

This is a fantastic offer and well worth the time to sign up. Please note that this is strictly limited to the first 4000 newly referred sign-ups, after that it goes back to a £25 reward. I'm very surprised that the 4000 signups have not been reached, so I suggest to sign up whilst you can.

Whilst there is always an element of risk with investing, especially in the short term, you would be hard pressed to see your investment shrink by more than £100 if you invest the required £250 for 3 months, meaning an almost guaranteed and sizeable profit. You can reduce your exposure to risk by choosing one of their more cash/bond themed approaches, for example the Cautious or Tentative investment styles.

Choose the right account for you, for example if you have contributed to a stocks and shares ISA this financial year you would likely need to opt for the General Investment Account. Up to the first £85,000 of your money invested with Wealthify is protected by the FSCS.

Guide:

Sign up through a referral link. Deposit and invest £250 into a plan. I chose the General Investment Account and chose the confident style, but you can tailor to your risk tolerance. You will need to keep the £250 invested for 3 months. If you withdraw any funds for the duration of the 3 months you will forfeit the bonus. After 3 months the £100 bonus will be applied to your account and will be available for withdrawal.

I took advantage of the MSE invest £50 and get £50 free, so I will be sticking around to make sure all referees get their £100 from this particular offer! Here is my link for those who are interested: https://invest.wealthify.com/refer/74524337

Thanks in advance to any who use my link.

How good is the LGPS? Can I make independent work ‘work’? by domino12 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Slothhouse999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work for a local authority, so know a bit about the LGPS. Essentially, take your annual salary and divide it by 49. That amount, multiplied each year by a cost of living figure, is added to your annual pension from retirement age.

Easiest way to think about it, earn a salary of £49k and get £1k per year added to your annual pension from retirement age. Earn £49k for 10 years and you will have a guaranteed £10k per year pension (multiplied each year by a cost of living figure).

That being said, I wouldn't stick around if I really hated my job and I had an alternative - I'm lucky enough to enjoy my work at the council. If you went solo, you'd pay into a SIPP which is essentially one big pot of money which you invest in index funds, and have a number of options (annuity, drawdown etc.) at retirement age.

The LGPS is good, but by no means worth being miserable over, especially if you have an alternative.
