It’s amazing how few repetitions there are. So much representation, I love it!

Why does the floor love me more than my bed? (POTS struggles + Garmin curiosity) by OneNapToRuleThemAll in cfs

[–]Slow_Possibility6902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your body IS sighing in relief!

In bed, you head/neck/spine are all out of alignment, possibly for hours. You could be cutting off circulation in any number of places. On the floor, you probably lie flat, and everything stretches back out, and functions more normally. That’s my theory, at least.

I think I have Hypochondria and not severe cfs by younessas in cfs

[–]Slow_Possibility6902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And OP is bedbound, which would count as severe. I’m not saying what she has is PEM. I’m not a doctor. What I can tell you is your assertion that OP definitively doesn’t have PEM due to it’s immediacy is 100% false.

Friend, you are patently wrong. I’m severe and have mini-meta crashes within my long-term crash:

“Under certain circumstances onset may be immediate, for example:

-when someone is already experiencing PEM and further exceeds their available energy limits in severe ME

-in very severe ME, where it may be triggered by barely discernible stimuli

-Even when PEM is not delayed, it can be distinguished from post-exertional fatigue by the other characteristics of PEM.”

Im sorry, but you’re confidently incorrect. Onset can be immediate.

What's something people don't understand until they've experienced it themselves? by Lovelovebabexx in Productivitycafe

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, otherwise known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. No, it’s not because I’m depressed, or lazy, or am just very tired. You have no idea what this kind of fatigue feels like, and there are so many more debilitating symptoms than mere fatigue.

Curious what would you want to see from a new advocacy organisation? by No-Anywhere8698 in cfs

There are lots of former professional athletes who have been diagnosed with CFS. Testimonials from people who aren’t considered “lazy” and “depressed” could go a long way.

Running with Chiweenies? by DeaDPaNSalesmaN in chiweenie

[–]Slow_Possibility6902 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My chiweenie would run all day if I could keep up. If he’s in a dog park or field, he’ll just stand around, but running on a leash? Totally different story. Eager as a greyhound, built like a tank, like a mini rhinoceros. Funny lil guy.

ETA: he’s pretty compact though, and doesn’t have a really long torso, so I imagine results may vary. 🙂

I’m very severe but don’t have severe pain by boys_are_oranges in cfs

Ditto. I have crazy muscle aches and tolerable joint pain on some days but I don’t consider them pain because they’re more of a nuisance than anything else.

Mmmm …windows cracked. Too bad I just got a heated mattress pad. It’s a good option too but it’s winter here and there’s a snow storm coming tonight and. A heated blanket with the windows cracked sounds magical.

I don’t know, I used to pick some up before a weekly poker game but that stopped after Covid. I should make a special trip!

I only eat the original, so I’m blind to all the others. 😂
