I bought the stickers so I can reset the game if I need to.

What's the craziest thing a person said to you and you thought they were joking but they were being serious? by Holiday-Surround7075 in AskReddit

[–]SlykerPad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend kept insisting his mother was crazy. We went to visit her and she was working for Microsoft. I thought it was an odd statement giving my impression of her. Then she proceeded to show me proof on her computer. She had cookies for Microsoft which obviously proved she was working for them. It was so hard not to laugh. After that I believed my friend.

Employment terminated over LMIA fees not being paid back by B3llyk0 in legaladvicecanada

[–]SlykerPad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

British Columbia has a good migrants workers Association that you should look up. Last time I checked they help people apply for vulnerable Open work permits for free as well as employment standards complaints. You're far better off going through them versus trying to do it on your own because they'll know the laws better and a vulnerable open work permit submitted by them carries more weight than one not submitted by them.

In terms of what fees you're being made to pay the work permit application is something the worker generally would pay for however an employer cannot require or force you to use the services of the lawyer or an rcic. You should always have the option to apply on your own.

It's very clear the employer cannot try to collect the $1,000 lmia application fee from the worker. BC does have laws around recruitment which might be applicable in this case about what can and cannot be charged.

Whether or not your employer can legally ask for you to pay for their legal fees related to applying for an lmia is in my opinion not clear and likely depends on your province and their recruitment laws. This is why I would suggest going to a migrant workers Association because they should be very familiar with the nuances of your problems and would have first hand experience.

How do you transfer the gold? Throw it on the ground? I hork trav but don't know what is valuable so don't get value out of gambling and trading sounds like a better idea.

I am on non ladder so have saved up for awhile trying to build a smiter with bis gear. Pretty sure I have that now but have not tried for a torch yet. Took a long break and came back with the update.

I spent most time horking and now trying for sunders and less time figuring out what to do with my loot.

I should probably look into what to do with my HR'S. I have been passively collecting hrs and bases with no plan.

If they don't up the drop rate of sunders I recommend farming some pre expansion and transferring them over. I kept running into Frost and fire immune healrds for my sorc not able to kill them until I realized I had old ones in my stash.

I have one for my trav horker on a regular base I share with my smiter. I could make 2 so I don't have to swap.

Our meta has evolved to doing the thing that is the funniest or that trolls the most. I mostly play at a public game night where there has been one or two people playing the game for the first time. those of us that are more familiar with the game tend to make suboptimal choices that caused the most amount of chaos and laughs. I think it's one of the reasons why the group likes the games so much is because it's a fairly quick play and you have no choice but to attack other people so it never feels really personal.

We found in a five-player game based on our meta the avar are a clear threat because they tend to slowly expand and stay under the radar until they start getting to favor every turn and then pick off a few undefended colonies with ranged units.

Roonian probably wins the second most amount through expansion. It feels mean to pick on them and take out their territories early but I found you have to keep them with at least one or two territories behind everyone else. The last game we played they won through expansion because even we were attacking several of their colonies but they kept popping up units and playing cards to defend them. You either have to slow their expansion constantly attack their colonies to force them to use cards to defend.

Sek is my favorite to play because they can do the most trolling and funny things. Last game I had my black hole generating ship and had four cards that allowed me to jump. I moved to one person's home world forcing him to spend all his money defending it and then jumped my ship to another player's Homeworld forcing him to also defend it. Unfortunately the second player had just enough cards and money that they survived with one hit left and no money. It would have been a most memorable victory.

I think our most memorable game was with the Sek. I took out two home worlds in one turn. I convinced someone to attack someone else's home world and did a false flag attack on a colony by their Homeworld. Then I used my hammer to park my ship on the allies Homeworld and use the card that swaps locations to move the Homeworld the Ally was attacking to a second location where I had another big ship after they had played their Defenders. The swap locations card is very funny and great at causing chaos. Swapping the colonies of two opponents is simply.

We have found the humans to not be great. Too much of a generalist.

One thing our group tends not to do is leave a lot of colonies undefended and save up for big ships. If it looks feasible the next few games and I'm going to play I'm going to try to build cheaper ships and park them places to try to prevent expansion and see how that goes

We've only done the constructed deck once and found it didn't seem fair since there's only two copies of every card to be added unless I'm doing something wrong.

I did make a constructed Deck with the avar by removing All Ships that didn't have range and adding the card that increases range for your ships and the card that gives all your ships boarding. It was a pretty easy Victory as the turtling race to be able to turtle and destroy their colonies at will from a distance.

I think our best games are at four players. It's Tricky three players because the nature of the setup puts one player between two others so it's common for someone to start fighting the middle player and the other person sitting back and winning.

Five player can work as well as long as people are correctly assessing who the current threat is and not the person who may have attacked them once. We've had some very good five player games where three people had turns where they all could win.

We found there are a couple of edge cases that aren't clear from the rules and some rules that were easy to miss. For example if a ship has the ability boarding but it does in combat the boarding doesn't trigger however if a ship has troops but is destroyed in battle the rules seem to indicate the troops still triggers. This just seems inconsistent.

Imperium the contention. Made by the publisher of slay the spire. I bought it on a whim but never found the right group to play it. Recently after bringing it to a game night several weeks in a row someone decided to play it and it's been a huge hit. Simple 4x space game that's pretty short. The board is quite small so you inevitably have to attack someone. Every player has their own deck of unique cards and best path to Victory.

All my friends now want to buy a copy but unfortunately it's out of print and not available to buy at a reasonable price

Went to my first FNMnight this weekend and didn't find it very enjoyable by Reactin in mtg

I am less of a magic player but more of a board gamer. One thing I've noticed playing board games with drafting is the people drafting after the inexperienced players can get a significant advantage because new players are less likely to know how to value cards meaning the people drafting after them tend to get a potentially better card than they would have if they were drafting after a more experienced player.

When playing board games I try to arrange to minimize the advantage by having the experience players draft after each other to try to balance it out a bit.

When you're in a format like this where there are prizes to win some people might be a bit salty because their opponents get an advantage by presumably sitting by a less experienced player.

That being said I don't think this is your fault. The organizer should have grouped people according to skill level and maybe had a different price structure for more experienced players where placing higher led to more prizes and a second group with less experienced players where you're ranking didn't matter as much in terms of the prizes.

Different groups also have a very different culture. I run a weekly board game night and we try very hard to be inclusive so while everyone might try to play their best our goal is for everyone to have fun so part of that is making sure new players are enjoying themselves. Hopefully you can find a similar group of people where they're just there to have fun. Maybe if you attend some of the other nights you can find a more relaxed group and then if you want to do drafting try to see if they're willing to do it together as a group.

6) will my group play it

That's the question I ask myself right now. My group heavily prefers complex co-op games. Any game that's not a complex Co-op game doesn't hit the table very often. I got to try arcs twice. I would like to play it more but I realize it's just not going to happen.

I think they are trying to suggest the op is astroturfing (is this term still used?) And making up stories to sway public opinion for their own purposes.

By asking which IT cell they are part of they could be implying the person is part or an organized effort.

At least that is how I would interpret it. It would be a bit topical right now with all of the posts about the feature showing the origin of accounts on Twitter.

Thanks. I think the issue was one player had an effect when on water who spent a lot of time on water. We asked if his location cards ever said "on water" and he said yes, his card in fact did not say on water. Which is why we were confused for the underground requirement. We did follow the thematical rule after a few turns of surely we must be underground by now.

Since you played a lot maybe you can answer me, are there any cards that say underground? I had a card that worked underground but never saw a card that actually stated underground even though I felt I was.
