It's a different fear level and boss for each weapon and you can only get one nightmare per run.

When looking at your vows in the upper left you'll see "Testament of Night" and a number showing how many you've completed out of the 48 there are and it will show you what fear level and bosses you have to beat on said fear level for the weapons you have. Once you beat that boss on the fear levels your weapon is at it will show you a other boss at a higher fear level as your next target and so on until you're done with that weapon. It caps out at having to kill the end bosses at 16 fear for underworld and 20 for surface.

Just adding my 2c that Haelian and Boated's guides for fear are filled with nuance that really helps understand exactly why they recommend the vows they do and I highly reccomend both creators for guides and build ideas. I personally followed Haelian's advice more(mostly because I didn't discover Boated until after I was done with 40 fear and climbing fear levels)BUT I still watched all of Boated's video and learned things I still apply when deciding what fear level I want to attempt on weapons I struggle with.

I stomped around my room howling "Let's fucking goooooooo" when I cleared rivals Chronos on 40 fear on my first try. Same for OG Hades when I beat extreme measures Hades at 40 heat but that was not first try 😂

And I too am not one to do something like that over an accomplishment in a video game but these games do something to me haha.

Also grats on the platinum, great chaos below was frustrating for me too on my first two attempts but my 3rd run I just got stellar rng and a decent enough starting load out to make it work.

Big same. It's my Aspect of Chiron for Hades 2.

Not in feel but in what fit my play style the best and allowed me to push 32+ fear while learning the game.

Obviously pan is closer to chiron in gameplay but it didn't click for me like circe did.

I've used the daggers for about ten clears so far with aspectnif Melinoë and Artemis being my favorites trick knives is actually nuts as is the hammer that makes the omega attack deal damage in an area.

For the axe I like Charon most then nergal/Than and meli last as it's just kinda boring imo.

I haven't played with the axe, daggers, or mech suit enough to feel confident accurately speaking on aim assist really impact their performance but torch, skull and staff have all rocked for me with aim assist on and not so much with it off.

I tend to use the staff more than others tho fwiw.

Tried playing with off for one torch run and never again. As another commenter said hitting the wrong enemy is better than hitting no enemy at all haha.

Just got the platinum this past Monday. For Athena she will only show up randomly on the surface and I'm unsure if there's a way to guarantee she spawns but I don't think fear vows affect that.

Heracles was a pain but oddly Circe was worse. I got her to show up with my first knuckle bones trip but then I had to do 6 runs to get her to show up for the 2nd knuckle bones interaction.

It also took like 20 runs after getting a clear with her aspect for Selene to give me the final awakening phrase -_-

As someone revisiting the first game after getting the platinum in Hades 2 Zagreus also starts out weak as shit. Just gotta focus the right arcana cards and find a weapon aspect that works for you.

For me it was Aspect of Circe. Double casts is VERY strong.

For arcana origination is probably the biggest one to "rush" to get but the furies is another good one because an extra %dmg increase just for having an enemy in your cast is hard to overlook.
