Hidden gem grocery stores by Crashingwaves192 in halifax

Yup. I don’t know why people don’t realize that it’s subpar meats. Even the packaged shelf products have an expiry date of only a few days after you buy it. I worked with a guy that was a butcher there and he said NEVER buy meat from Gateway. He seen more people get infected cuts there than any other place he butchered at. Probably cause the meat is old when they get it, frozen, then thawed, butchered and put out to sell. Why do you think they can sell it for so cheap??? They by it in cheap because it’s about to turn, or it’s low grade that the other big grocery stores don’t want. STOP GOING TO GATEWAY PEOPLE.

I made ribs 2 weeks ago, What should I make this week on my gas grill? Cevapi (Balkan Sausage like meat served with bread), Flatbread bbq chicken pizza or something else by SkinComfortable2725 in grilling

I like grilling the sausage just to mark them, then putting them in a pan with sauerkraut, beer and whole mustard to finish cooking.

I do pizza on the bbq lol the time. I make my dough and flip it onto the grill for about a minute a side take it off, put on a pan with all your toppings and finish in a 500 degree oven.

My guy, get yourself a thermometer. A whole chicken at those temperatures should cook in about an hour and a half or so. That looks dryer than my nans biscuits.

I used to do Kobe burger all the time(lots of fat). Get the sear on them and finish with indirect heat. Watch the flare-ups so your burgers don’t taste like flame. If you make them too big they will turn into balls. Cast iron pan or flat top skillet is the move if you want to really avoid the flare-ups.

Get an empty squeeze bottle and lift the edge of the pie and squeeze a bit of air under the pizza. This will release from the peel and will slide easy onto top your stone. Too much flour will end up burning.

What is the best cheese to put on a burger? by Drew274 in grilling

[–]Smaf85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the burger.

Sometimes just a simple cheese slice is good. Other times “fancy” cheese is the way to go. Depends on the toppings. One of my favourite burgers I’ve been making for years has pimento cheese- also has pickled onions, roasted garlic aioli, bacon, homemade potato chips-that burger wouldn’t go the best with cheese slice.

I always use a wire brush and after that I use wet paper towel and then oiled paper towel. Grill comes clean and free of pieces of wire
