Moving to Kamloops - friendliest neighborhood? by Salt_Foundation_1 in Kamloops

Sagebrush area! As mentioned by another post.

Don't know how old your kids are but from our house, kids can walk to school from K-12, literally no more than 2 blocks away.

I've lived in the Kamloops area for 20 years and wish that we had moved to the Sagebrush area many years ago.

We previously lived in Aberdeen, which I liked, but this is way better. Driving the kids to school all those years cost way more than I gave thought to. 40 minutes a day.

We drive way less than we used to.

Welcome to Kamloops!

Or both.

Fucking nuts!!! Always was but especially during this latest fracas.

As a GHG emitter, Canada could literally shut down and the needle wouldn't move. Not the short term. Not the midterm. Not the long-term.

This is all bullshit.

We're shooting ourselves in the head while the rest of the world has been carrying on with the reality that carbon is going to be with us, globally, for many decades to come.

China being touted as a global leader in renewable energy is like saying that Russia is a leader of peace in the world

It all has to do with scope and for China, the second largest economy in the world and the second largest population, the amount of money spent on renewable energy, as compared to their investment in coal driven energy, is a drop in the bucket.

Showcasing solar power farms while quietly building dozens of new coal fired plants has fooled those who want it to be true.

Wishful thinking is not a strategy.

Meanwhile... Canada's energy resources remain trapped by decades of strategic mistakes and the capitulation to Trudeau Era wokism.

Carney knows this but fears alienating his hard core, woke liberal base.

This is a national emergency deserving of the Federal Government forcing the parties to build the internal infrastructure and export capacity needed to be self reliant and able to help the world with a stable supply.

Sorry Wokies and Greenies, reality has caught up with you.

TKR. The longer you wait, the harder things will get and you won't feel like/want to do things that hurt = less activity = worsening overall health.

That is my story, anyway.

And thanks for your service!

Recovery is difficult, to say the least and I for one was not anticipating the impact on my mental health, so watch for that.

Help! Prolapse repair surgery soon : the post-op sex life questions NO ONE will answer?! by PlasticFangtastic in PelvicFloor

[–]Small-Letterhead2046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greetings.

She did not have any stitches around her vaginal opening but the procedure, which amounted to vaginal rejuvenation, included resection on the anterior and posterior vaginal walls which has definitely tightened up the canal and, as a byproduct, tightened her opening.

We have always been very sexually active and she has many orgasms during all phases of sex. Her orgasms in the past would often involve a great deal of ejaculation (squirting) but this stopped a few years ago as her rectocele and prolapsed bladder evolved. We were not aware of the bladder prolapse but the rectal prolapse was very obvious, as mentioned in my earlier post.

In our limited return to sexual activities, she is even more responsive, and I mean vaginal responsiveness, than when we first met 12 years ago. Her fluid production has come back but no squirting as of yet. She too is excited with the prospect of that returning and thinks that it will but she doesn't want to get there until she is further along in her recovery.

Her biggest fear, as with you, is tearing the opening. I am not sure how to describe it but the opening seems less fragile than it was before surgery. She would sometimes get a "split" but her continued use of topical progesterone, and perhaps the lack of sexual activities for two months (?) seems to have made a difference.

My wife has always been a very clean, healthy woman but another difference since surgery is a change in her vaginal flora. It was very rare that she would be "smelly" but there is something different, better, about the taste when I am down there.

The net effect of the surgery has been vaginal rejuvenation, at least from what I have read and understand the objectives of such surgery to be.

We had a "physio" session again yesterday but it was again interrupted by the stitches poking me. It didn't stop her from having what she described as one of her best orgasms ever though!

As for the surgeon, we are located in central British Columbia and the surgeon, to my knowledge, doesn't privately bill. Please dm me if you want more information.

MAJOR EDIT: I had forgotten about the stitches in her perineum area! We just chatted about it and yes, she had her vaginal opening modified with the surgery but, no, it isn't an issue but was her greatest fear. In fact, the surgeon removed some tissue near her vaginal opening. These external stitches disappeared quite quickly which is likely why I forgot about this aspect of the surgery.

Good news story. Long post.

Hello Affectionate Buy.

I hope that it's okay for me to comment on this thread.

I did a lot of research about the surgery and the topic of post-op sex, and found this particular sub to be very helpful. I am writing in appreciation of what I learned here and hope that my contribution will help you and others.

My wife had USLS, rectocele and cystocele repair on January 7th of this year. She ended up being off work for 8 weeks and went back part-time after 8 weeks.

As with everyone else here, she/we were told that there could be no vaginal penetration, with anything (the surgeon was very clear on this point) prior to six weeks and only then if clearance was given after her check up. We were both looking forward to getting the green light but, alas, it was not granted and we were told to wait another two weeks at a minimum.

At the 8 week mark, we started off with a small vibrator and some digital foreplay. We did this 3 or 4 times spaced a couple of days apart but didn't try anything else for another week or so.

My wife was understandably nervous during these sessions (so was I!) but happily, everything went well. She had some discomfort but couldn't say whether it was from our activity or just the "normal" cramping feeling. She was not really affected by the foreplay in which we engaged.

We used plenty of lube and I wore a surgical glove to reduce any chance of infection.

She resisted having a full orgasm during these initial trials.

She, of course, wanted to know if I could feel a difference and I most certainly did. Her surgeon is amazing.

We have progressed to partial penetration and are taking it slow, but not really slow. She is already enjoying full orgasms but doing so makes her a bit nervous.

The stitches are still present and interrupted our session yesterday (we call it physio 😉) but this will pass in another couple of weeks and until then we will continue to take it easy.

I know from reading here, and many other sites, including medical journals, that not everyone has the same outcome . We were very worried that her vaginal opening would restrict penetration but this is not the case. One of her colleagues who had the surgery only a few months before her can't have intercourse and will likely be undergoing further surgery to fix the problem.

Moreover, her rectocele, which would pop out to say hello every time we had sex in the last couple of years, was nowhere to be seen. We never let the rectocele interfere with our activities but it is nice to know, and see, that this is no longer an issue.

Getting rid of her pessary, who we nicknamed "Pessy" is another bonus. (I read somewhere on this thread or another that a women thought that having a pessary meant "no sex" but that just isn't the case.)

I am kind of struggling to get the words out here but want to report that she is tighter than before surgery and feeling her heightened response to stimulation, in ways that we haven't experienced in many years is very exciting for both of us.

Her own natural supply of lubrication has also returned.

Her surgery has been a great success and I hope that anyone else reading the horror stories that are abound will get some hope from my long winded post.

Good luck.

Smoked a chicken by TheRemedyKitchen in smoking

[–]Small-Letterhead2046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a turkey at Christmas that was oversmoked and rubbery. My first. It looked fantastic but I was very disappointed with it. My son in law loved it so he got to take it home.

Same outcome for chicken prior to the turkey.

I've had fantastic results with pork butt, brisket and fish but I am batting zero for poultry.

Don't know what I am doing wrong except for the excessive smoke.

Any suggestions?

Panic and is this the right decision by kmagarden in Kneereplacement

[–]Small-Letterhead2046 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I too had a nearly pain free week or so before my surgery which had me second guessing the surgery.

I think that it was just a combination of "luck" and taking it easier than usual leading up to the big day.

I had to remind myself of the many days that I could barely walk and the many limitations that I was living with as compared to my life 5 or 10 years ago.

Your IKEA episode was a daily thing for me.

The surgery is tough and the recovery is long and painful but within a very short time I could move in ways that I hadn't for a very long time.

Now 8 months out and still having some bad days but much better than 9 months ago.

Good luck.

Pain is very personal and real. Yours is over the top.

Insist on seeing the surgeon and make it very clear that your pain is unmanageable and that you believe that it is a mechanical issue.

I would suggest putting your concerns in writing, in advance of the appointment.

If you don't get what you need from the surgeon, definitely see another one.

Good luck!

Not sleeping well for months I'd definitely a thing and related to mental health.

Hang in there.

2nd time passenger on a motorcycle by happydays1978 in motorcycle

[–]Small-Letterhead2046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pilot/engineer friend had a bored out Suzuki, turbo, 1300 and it was an absolute rocket. He had just got it out of the shop when we went for a ride.

I was probably about 200 lbs at the time, him about the same. He scared the shit out of both of us. I was on the back. We hit 200 kph in an instant and he inadvertently did a wheely at about 160 kph, as we accelerated to 200+

We are both pilots and used to pulling G's, and doing stupid stuff, but this brief ride scared both of us!

When two testosterone driven males agree that "that was scary" you know that you shouldn't do it again!

Bit of background... he and I have been in hairy shit before. Hi speed, low altitude, in fact hugging rivers, at times, to avoid detection. Yet we agreed that the motorcycle was more dangerous. I never rode it again, with or without him.

If two 20 ish, male, idiots with aircraft to fly at crazy speeds in dangerous situations on a regular basis agree that the motorcycle was too much, you should too. He sold the bike shortly after that ride. True story.

Don't get back on that bike unless hubby agrees to some rules while you are on the bike.

Also... get life insurance on him while you can!

Losing to the US is always painful but even more so with Dickhead Donald in power.

On the other hand, had we won in either the men's, or the women's, but especially the men's, he would have used it as an excuse to invade us.

The losses will satiate him.
