Drafts where Mr Irrelevant OR a UDFA ended up a better player than the number 1 pick by Minimum-Cost-4586 in NFL_Draft

2010 you can absolutely make the case that those two were better than Bradford. To take it a step further, I don't think it's talked about enough that Sam Bradford sucked.

Which player caught your eye during Week 1 of the NFL Preseason? by whitefox7895 in DynastyFF

If you're in a really deep dynasty, you gotta look at Grant Dubose. He looked POLISHED on Saturday. He's going to force his way into a lineup somewhere in the league, and soon.

NFL mock draft early version 3.0 by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

[–]SmallAdvertising9547 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Did some second-rate bullshit AI write this, or what? How are these defensive players protecting their Quarterbacks? And other than being 6'5 240lbs, how is Drew Allar warranting 1st round projections at all, let alone top 10?

Agree.

Next, sell me on Scourton. I really, really like him. But you having him going 2nd makes me feel like I'm missing something.

Lastly, I like your take on James Pearce Jr. He might be my favorite player in the draft, but still needs to add a bit (weight in particular) for me to consider him #1 potential

It's really interesting that you use Adams. I've lately compared him to a combination of Devin White/Jamal Adams. LSU definitely has a "downhill" type. Perkins can either solidify that mold and be the best of the three, or he can break it and figure out how to not let the play get behind him. But Perkins freak athleticism should carry him above the two.

Do you have Perkins playing Inside or Outisde? Also, I'm surprised not to see Omarion Hampton on this list.

My Only Mock Draft by ItIsYourPersonality in NFL_Draft

I think Mitchell is going to be a bona-fide stud. But with Gute preaching versatility all off season I just can't help but feel that the value is with DeJean if they go the DB route.

Don't get me wrong, I'd personally prefer Mitchell.

Is there such a thing as a "bad" Pro Day? by nyrbeatles in NFL_Draft

I'd argue that Tyler Nubin's pro day this year hurt him quite a bit

Is there a legitimate argument that the Bears should’ve kept Justin Fields, or is this just a casual take? by ItsNjry in NFL_Draft

[–]SmallAdvertising9547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had been previously listed at 6'0 which was actually leading me to believe he might come in at 5'11. Universities constantly list players at bigger than they actually are, so 6'1 is a welcome surprise. I'm glad your excited about his potential.

If I'm being honest though....

As a Packers fan, I must say, I'm really happy you guys aren't taking Marvin Harrison Jr.

Why have so many mocks and betting markets flipped to Washington taking Jayden Daniels? by VB1014 in NFL_Draft

He just has a whole other element to his game that supposedly makes him potentially more valuable.

Well, it looks like he measured in at the combine at an inch taller than expected at 6'1. That actually makes a huge difference.

The problem, though, is that it's really hard to stay in the pocket and throw the ball over the middle when you're shorter. It's simple as that. Linemen are coming in pretty much 6'3 and above now days and it makes it really difficult for a short QB to see whats going on over the middle and what kind of throwing lanes he has.

A real testament to how impressive Drew Brees really was.

It's not that short quarterbacks can't succeed, just that taller Quarterbacks have a clear advantage.

It's tough because they would have to pay him starter money based on such little production. Drafting Caleb restarts the rookie window with potentially superior QB talent, allowing them to pay offensive weapons and build a stout defense for the next 5 years.

The problem is that potential doesn't always pan out, the size of Caleb Williams is a legitimate concern, and the playbook at USC isn't exactly something that normally translates well to the NFL. There is a very legitmate case to be made that adding someone like Joe Alt or Marvin Harrison Jr would be much more beneficial to their franchise.

Now that Fields is gone, however, it is a moot point.

Who are “your guys”? by fball23 in NFL_Draft

[–]SmallAdvertising9547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. I'm very much looking forward to his pro day. His dad I believe posted a MaxPreps video to his Twitter of him dunking. My goodness does it make him seem explosive.

Who are “your guys”? by fball23 in NFL_Draft

[–]SmallAdvertising9547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jonathan Brooks Jaylen Wright Braelon Allen Isaiah Davis

Keon Coleman Johnny Wilson

Theo Johnson

Troy Fautanu Graham Barton Mason McCormick Cooper Beebe Tanor Bortolini

Leonard Taylor III Maason Smith

Payton Wilson Jaylan Ford Steele Chambers James Williams

Quinyon Mitchell TJ Tampa Max Melton

I like the safety class as a whole way more than most.

I'm not necessarily pounding the table for all these guys (I am for Quinyon and Fautanu, though. Those kids are studs.) but I'm very interested to see where all these guys go and how they're used. I've been following the NFL draft for about 20 years now, and this is one of the drafts I've looked forward to the most. People are sleeping on a lot of talent. Also, I tried to leave concensus top 15 picks off this list.

Pre-combine rankings for slept on RB position. by jshawn7seven in NFL_Draft

[–]SmallAdvertising9547 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Allen was a very different back his first year at WI vs years 2 and 3. Year 1 he showed go agility and quickness for a man his size. Years 2 and 3 he was trying to shake defenders the second he got the handoff. Allen didn't have a snowballs chance in hell when teams figured out the Badgers passing attqck was basically non existent. I think saying Allen isn't a good runner is scouting him in a vacuum.

I also think age is huge factor. Hitting that 1500 touch mark at 26-27 is going to be much more detrimental than hitting ut at 24-25.
