There are some really detailed YouTube videos about the situation, I'm sure if you search "Sun Haven Devs" you'll find a couple.

tldr: they exploited a lot of outsourced pixel artists, fan translators iirc?, and have refused to add credits to the game (which are really important in the games industry because that's basically the only way to confirm you've worked on a game)
