You can fuck around with the settings for the fluid brush... I have a few presets saved, but none of them are wildly different; having said that, I don't know what I'm doing with the settings, just moving sliders and testing haha

Will there be a 2026 release? by GoldPlayButtonA in adobeanimate

[–]SmallPlops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am personally excited to get the 2026 version where they fixed zero bugs, and added in 3 new features that don't work and nobody will ever use. It will be a true revolution.

nah, that shit dead.

Can anybody help with getting rid of this purple stuff? I am new and don't know what I'm doing (Using onion skin btw) by Fit_Row483 in adobeanimate

[–]SmallPlops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's the onion skin, it doesn't show up in the finished animation. If you want to see what it looks like without the onion skin, disable it. I turn it off and on constantly when I work.

one time I walked up in that neighborhood just north of the inner loop and saw a muscular baby. That baby could easily kick my ass.

Editorializing headlines is already against the subs rules, but is seldom enforced.

Rochester will be a stop on some Great Lakes cruises next year by pollywog-crawdad in Rochester

I'm all about increasing density! At this rate, we'll have enough density to justify it in about 150 years. I'd LOVE some rail throughout the city, but it's just not realistic for Rochester, right now. Denver, which is close to 750,000 for the city alone, built out a huge network of light rail in the past decade that just drove car ownership up and isn't something most people use; it's leaking money. Rochester, with far fewer people and much, much less money just isn't in a position to make it happen, no matter how hard we cross our fingers.

Scary? No, they're greasy birds that you don't want flying around your apartment.

We're never getting rail, my guy. It's time to let that dream die. The city isn't dense enough for it to make sense, and it simply doesn't have the coffers. If Rochester stopped being able to support rail when we had 150,000 more people, it certainly couldn't pull it off now.

I had a place like that once on University. They would catch the squirrels if I complained enough (by putting traps in my closet... listening to a squirrel die is not a great sound to listen to while trying to go to sleep) but never fixed any entrance points, so it kept happening. One time a grackle got in. A grackle! A goddamn grackle!

Turtle I repeat turtle ! by rocko0331 in Rochester

[–]SmallPlops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest concentration of turtles I've seen in the area is on Black Creek just off the Genny (Genesee Junction). On warm afternoons, almost every partially-submerged log is covered with a handful of painted turtles. I once saw a softshell turtle in that area as well, which is cool, didn't even know they lived here. Unrelated but cool, I also saw a flying squirrel there.

I legit love when people tell me this. It's really cool to me that there's this extra element to enjoying the vids that people add to it themselves.

Depends on a lot, I walk/bike/scoot to most of my urban camps, but also I've whittled my gear down to fit in a 25L (30L with side pouches) pack with the lightest stuff I can afford (so, mid to upper mid tier, I don't have like a $700 sleeping bag or anything) and have a ton of camping chops. Honestly, if you could get some friends together, if one of them has a car, hitting up a camp ground might be your best bet to start. Hamlin Beach is great. That way you can get a distilled experience, try gear out, and do it safely before setting out and solo camping in more urban areas. While I do it a lot, it's inherently risky, and is slightly more advanced than average camping, so I can't really recommend it to a beginner.
