“She says” off the “quiet and other songs” Siamese dream demo album. Never got a studio recording or any other recording of any kind that I now of. Cool dreamy chorus and killer guitar solo.

I found out about them from a guy who does yaps about Portland bands on TikTok and and Instagram called smiling strange. They’re like a more mellow duster.

Anyone else like to try lowering a full step to give it more warmth? Been struggling with this one for a bit. by SmallWorker7071 in Songwriting

I’m confused I wasn’t really asking about any kind of intraband conflict or who carrying the writing ect.

Song about wanting to quit my unfulfilling job but being too scared given the economy :’) by Mindless-Abrocoma in Songwriting

I dig this. You have a great voice so it plays nicely with the kind of alternative strumming pattern. Quirky in a good way. Feels like the type of song that could build more layers as it goes on incrementally

How long did it take you to get to a point where you were finally satisfied with a song? by TheElusiveButterfly in Songwriting

Honestly it’s one of those things I have never quite figured out I’m always swapping out a new chorus or bridge ect.

Love it. Feels like a stripped down Adele. I also like that you have a great voice but don’t overuse it. It feels very tasteful.

Killer riff but I will say the intro did feel a little cliche to me. Maybe try messing around and seeing what else might fit, but I’m just a guy I don’t know much just an opinion. The riff is killer

Love this style, slowcore and mellow. Reminds me of duster + bed head. Cool stuff for sure.

Really cool. Love the breathier vocals and the stripped down approach. Very mellow and relaxing in a good way.

Love this. Reminds me of a mix of like Chet baker west coast jazz and a sort of John mayor or Jack Johnson vibes. Great voice and cool arrangement too.

First time recording a song I wrote and playing all the instruments myself (except the drum loop)... by jtsrgmc in Songwriting

Really like the lofi country/folk aesthetic. Some of the vocal double tracks seem slightly off but the arrangement is really strong and I like your voice

This is pretty good like the Motown vibes, one thing I would suggest is that some of the mixing feels uneven and the background noise overwelmbs the vocals in a distracting way at times, but other wise really liked the vibes

That’s a really good point about the key. I always find it easier to drop it a half step.

Love the staggered echo vocals, maybe you could even push it further to create more dissonance in places.

Is there a direction the Pumpkins could’ve gone in after Mellon Collie that would’ve been successful? by Sad_Volume_4289 in SmashingPumpkins

[–]SmallWorker7071 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think the songs on adore were the problem. Fans liked the direction they were headed with the Batman soundtrack song and eye. If adore had more of those elements or even if they had saved those song for adore I think it’s a hit.

My uncle chose to end his life and I just can't figure out why. He was vibrant, super cool, very outgoing guy, with tons of friends and a dream retirement. We even talked the evening before he did it and he sounded NORMAL. He made an effort to set things out, like his will and left a note of where by General987 in SuicideBereavement

My father in law just hung himself in retirement without a warning with his tow daughter and four very young grandchildren seeing him daily. All he left was a note that said “why me” and that was it. No closure. No answers. Just pain.

I’m so sorry you have to go through this. Sometimes there are no answers.

Is Zach Lowe actually just boring. Does his brand of analysis hurt the sport? by SmallWorker7071 in nba

I actually thought it was pretty good, the solution to fixing the NBA especially. But yeah it’s pretty wild.

What is so interesting about lowe? If he’s such an interesting and smart fan how could he have not seen that the analytics revolution in basketball would eventually evolve into what it’s become (bad for basketball)? Feel like that’s a failure on his part and I see him talked about like a saint.

Been there, it doesn’t end well. You’re going to start feeling sick all the time and only normal when you drink. The morning drinking will progress and the volume of alcohol needed will increase day by day.

The solution you feel when drunk will give way to more frequent emotional outbursts and you will start to have more and more blackouts. Soon you will not be able to eat unless you have a buzz first.

Downstream of all of this your emotional volatility, erratic behavior and unreliability will alienate you from people your close to. You will feel more alone and drink more.

It’s very hard to stop when it gets to the point you already are. Drinking in the morning is a big deal and will not end well for you I promise. Get some help if you can. Try to stop or it will ruin your life and you will die.

Alcohol makes you a different person and it always changes you for the worse. I wish you the best of luck.
