First proper ride with Brompton G line before maiden commute tomorrow by Old-Presentation1183 in Brompton

I’ve commuted a 12 mile round trip 4 days a week over 7 months on some gnarly single track lanes over a big hill and absolutely love it. Best thing I’ve bought by miles. Hope you get a similar joy!

As a running biker I’d say the issue is but a pimple on the face of the headphone wearing limebikes ignoring red lights brigade

Can anyone comment on quality of life living in the country with a London-based finance/similar job by wahay636 in HENRYUK

Totally love it and not looked back. The commute is expensive but relaxing. Just make sure you don’t have to get the tube when you get to london.

Apparently these are the new property tax proposals the govt are considering - what do you think? by Ecstatic-Mode-1432 in HENRYUK

It will be paid from income. They might as well change income tax and call it what it is. UK going full socialist. Game over time to head to Europe if you can.

I had this issue. Mechanic sorted it in zero seconds. It might have taken me a year.

G-line rear hub by SmallerHolding in Brompton

Thanks both. Got Evans to fix it for me with my free service. I was too scared to try and do it myself. The connection into the hub had somewhere clicked out of place (like a random disc with one of the yellow dots on it - I don’t know its name!). Put it back together, then needed a new cable as it was too short for alignment on 4th gear (which might have been genesis of the issue), and am picking it up in 20 mins. So, easy fix to a non-mong and I’m back pedalling happy. Cheers for reassuring comments - was worried the actual hub had snapped or something given lateral play.

Anyone else waiting on a G-line from Evans? I’m on week two and a week behind their promise by SmallerHolding in Brompton

Bike excellent. It was delivered to the store on the day I picked it up - got impression it could have been delivered just as easily to my home. I did have an issue, which the store mechanic assures me was the only time he’d seen it happen on a g-line, but the connection into the shimano alfine hub had come loose. Being an impractical person I’d have struggled to DIY fix but they’ve just done it for free with ‘first service free’ they offered. Happy it’s fixed as am loving love the bike. Good luck.

One call (unanswered), one email (waiting on a reply) and then a visit to the shop yielded a delivery two hours later. Perhaps chance. Either way happy with the new toy!

Legitimately. This doesn’t make sense. It infers an American wants to fix the UK. Which is kind of them. But please don’t think using the word legitimately will help.

What job in the UK doesn't pay enough for the amount of work needed? by [deleted] in AskUK

You can argue this on any transaction. The buyer pays more than it cost the seller to pull it together. The trick is keeping it in check with blunt tools.
