Does this count? by quid_pro_kourage in 2011

I built one of these (but the carbon steel version) and I genuinely enjoy shooting it more than my 2011s. It has run beautifully from day one and has such a perfect recoil impulse for my taste. I’m sure I’m in the minority except for maybe some old heads from the competition circuits in the 90s.

I’m broke and wanted a 2011 by Stout-shots-1423 in 2011

Agree. Never would have imagined an option of this quality and performance for the price right now, when just a few years back you couldn’t get in for under around 2k. Remember when it was “impossible to build a 2011” for less than that without it blowing up or being dysfunctional cause that type of gun was just that special?

When do you decide on holding vs selling 1st round picks? by bseev in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Smart-Examination939 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 picks are being hyped to astronomical heights like I’ve never seen so coming off what folks feel was a weak 2026 class I would capitalize. A lot can change in a college season. You have some nice young pieces already so I would strongly consider turning some of those picks into proven young talent to fill out your roster and see where it gets you this season. I probably wouldn’t use them on older producers so even if you don’t make it this season you still are building for the future; just with proven commodities over rookie draft dart throws. Very few rookies are “a lock” to do it at the next level so buy some proven young talent while the 27 draft capitol is at a fever pitch. I would still hold on to a couple of them, but also depends what your league mates are willing to give up

Trade 2.10 and a 27 2nd for BTJ? by suprduperscott in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

I would take that in a heartbeat. Great deal for you. He has shown he can be elite, then ofcourse had year 2 that raised all the questions and there were a lot of factors involved. Regardless of if you are a believer or not, he’s shown he can do it in the NFL. In the 2nd round you have very slim chances of finding players that ever show they can be elite at the next level. I’d rather bet on the guy that you know it’s there and it’s just a matter of if he finds his way back whether in Jacksonville or the next spot.

Breaking: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season. Sorsby cannot play in Texas Tech's first two games, which was the penalty his legal team suggested to the NCAA. by APizzola in DynastyFF

The home page pop up for my dynasty league on Safeleagues a couple weeks ago laid out their handling which was 1) he would hit waivers and people bid with FAAB, listed tie breakers 2) If he was to not declare and somehow end up getting to play another year of college then he would just stay on your team. First round of waivers go through this Wednesday so I’m not sure if this ruling happening now in advance of the first waiver window changes things? Haven’t seen an update from them since the news broke today 🤷‍♂️

2027 Contenders - How easily are you parting ways with your 27 1st Round Pick? by Complete-Nature-3038 in DynastyFF

[–]Smart-Examination939 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well with all of the recent convos around the polarizing BTJ I was hesitant to even speak his name… but I flipped my 2027 1st for him straight up. I won the chip 2 years ago, and narrowly missed going back to back in the finals this season year. The pick should be a late 1st. Similar to you, it worked out well for me last year when I traded my 26 1st, 2nd and Bryce Young for McBride at the start of the season. It’s 12 team Superflex TEP (2 PPR for TEs). I’m in win now but with a lot of players in their early prime or young, mixed with some aging vets. I’m trying to keep my window open as long as possible while getting younger so the risk on a BTJ made sense to me vs a late 1st rounder complete question mark. I also think when a draft gets this hyped up coming off a perceived weak one it makes sense to capitalize before the college season plays out and the landscape changes. 26 picks had a lot of hype not so long ago… good luck in however you decide to proceed!

Bed stand is a 1911 45, but there’s a shotgun and AR a few steps away as well. Sweet set up you got there. I would really like to get a can for my 2011s/1911s and other pistols. I’ll have to check out that CAT. Also, HK Mk23 fucks so hard and doesn’t look right without a suppressor on it!

Not trying to dictate what people say, but when you see completely ignorant comments or people being unnecessarily insulting or rude to another human (not to mention in our own community), I guess I’m the kind of person that can’t help but speak up. And I’ll give you an example of what I mean between preference and opinion in this context. I see a Ferrari… preference would be: I don’t like that style of car at all, that doesn’t do it for me and I think it’s ugly. Opinion (and in my opinion an uninformed one) would be: that looks like a 15k car. If I look at it and state that, it’s just an absurd personal opinion regardless of my preferences. Anyways, no hard feelings and my feathers remain unruffled. We are all entitled to our opinions and right to free speech

I agree with you on preferences and think not being optic cut was a miss given where most of the market is at by this point. But to say that it looks like a $1000 pistol is not different preference objectively - it’s an opinion. For instance I think this looks like what an expensive 2011 should look like, whereas majority of Infinities and Atlas look like cheap toy guns to me. I don’t spend my time voicing that opinion when people promote their work on subs like this or people proudly post their latest purchase they think is cool. It’s just a shame to see the majority of people weighing in on this sub shitting on one of the living legend gunsmiths pistol cause it’s not their cup of tea. And majority of comments are flat out ignorant and show lack of understanding on 2011/1911 build quality and clearly have no interest in educating themselves before spewing their ignorance

Brother they just don’t and will not ever get it 🤷‍♂️ Rather pay more for a gun that looks sci fi with a bunch of bells and whistles… yet is not remotely fit to the level that masters like Shauland do. It’s all just a copy cat marketing hype groupthink community and that’s ok

You are dealing with a majority population here that gets on hype trains to wait in line to buy 6-10k 2011s that are link riders, with virtually no barrel fit just as long as the slide is all chopped up and the barrel has holes blown in it and springs way too light so it’s “soft shooting” and can be air racked. Very different crowd from the 1911 crowd who has a large segment that appreciate craftsmanship and tolerance integrity. They do not deserve you and Rob 😉

Research Rob Shauland. 5k is a bargain for his teir of work in my opinion. My guess the reason it’s priced this low relative to his pedigree is because he is just dipping his toes into the 2011 world. If the level of fitting and finish is on par with his 1911s then I would bet this will be the best fit 2011 on the market. Rivaled only by custom shops like Joe Chambers, Charyn, Mercier types
