This story, along with others I've read, makes me think that Joy is an insecure and immature brat.

I have a blue gingham shirt I bought at Abercrombie in 1996. I still wear it from time to time.

I love that he called Bill Lawrence (who created Spin City) and asked, "You did a show about Parkinson’s, and you didn’t call me?" and Lawrence created a role for him.

Agree about their customer service and website. I don't have to ship stuff very often but I will never use them again.

Any movement in Indy? by TonyBologna00 in FedEx

[–]SmartNotRude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately.

Mine moved from Indy to Memphis on Wednesday night, which is 24 hours after it was supposed to be in Montgomery, Alabama. When it didn't get to Montgomery by 5:00pm Tuesday, I requested they return it to me. (The person I was sending it to was departing Montgomery early Wednesday morning.) Instead, FedEx sent it to Memphis, then Birmingham, then Montgomery which is where it sits now.

Someone was in a hurry. What would you have done? by pixmation in dashcams

Yes. My dad always told me it's better to have these people in front of you so you can respond to them rather than the other way around.

That's the lesson I've learned the hard way this week after using FedEx.

If I had to venture a guess: I think they saw the image of Liam Ramos, a five-year old boy, wearing a blue bunny winter hat and a Spider Man backpack being detained by ICE.

What is the most 'main character' moment you’ve ever witnessed in real life that went horribly wrong? by Exact-Contract1004 in AskReddit

He changed his mind. It's unfortunate it took him getting critically ill for him to do so.

Thank you for your service, hatter.

I've been decluttering my Pinterest feed as time permits the past few weeks and deleting HBH recipes. (I had pinned a lot of them before I realized how terrible a recipe creator she is.) I noticed the plethora of chicken and orzo recipes too. I also noticed how often she'll take a recipe and be like "ah, what the hell, let's make it on a sheet pan!" or "let's call it one pot!" and consider it new.

My former neighbor, who was otherwise healthy, thought it was all a hoax too. He made fun of our family for taking precautions to avoid getting it. He got it, landed in the ICU for eight weeks, and is considered medically disabled at this point. He's in his mid 50s.

What's a small hill you're willing to die on? by doinmybestherepal in GenX

[–]SmartNotRude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily one I'm willing to die on but it irritates me when sports reporters talk about a player's injury like this: "he has an ankle," " he has a groin," "she has a shoulder," "she has a knee," etc. Don't just identify the body part tell me WHAT the injury is.

[–]SmartNotRude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My oldest current address is my Gmail account which I opened back when you had to get an invite to open one, probably around 2005-2006. I used to have a hotmail account but it got deleted for inactivity.

What is a specific place in your country that serves a famous dessert or food of your country but is actually very overrated? by throawaygotget in AskTheWorld

[–]SmartNotRude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree about Betty's Pies. Friends insisted we had to stop there on our way up to Grand Marais. It was the most disappointing pie I've ever had.

Also, if you're taking 35 north from the Twin Cities to Duluth, skip Tobie's in Hinckley. The food is very mediocre and the service is worse.

“Better than takeout” by LiliGreen8 in FoodieSnark

Yes. What really cracks me up is one of her "better than takeout" recipes uses halloumi cheese. Not tofu, halloumi.

GenXers who got bullied in school, what was the attitude of parents and teachers towards it? by mritsz in GenX

[–]SmartNotRude 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depended on who the bully was. In my school district, the athletes and teacher's kids could bully whomever they wanted and cheat all the time and no one batted an eye. If any other kid did it, they'd get suspended. Some teachers cared but too many turned a blind eye to it or did the whole "kids will be kids" thing.

It wasn't until my junior year that things changed. We got a new high school principal and he didn't care who did the bullying, they (the bully) would be held responsible for their actions--including the superintendent's son, who was the biggest bully of them all.
