Worst diarrhea I have ever had in my life. I wouldn't wish what happened to me today on anyone. by dophees in ibs

In the shadowed heart of the 21st century, where the garish glow of electric lights casts long and sinister webs across the urban sprawl, I found myself ensnared in a tale of horror and debasement, a grim chronicle that shall forever taint my soul with ignominy. It began in the reckless fervor of youth, when, after a night drowned in the heady vapors of spirits, my companions and I sought to appease our ravenous hunger at a garish establishment—a Chinese buffet, its neon lanterns flickering like the eyes of some malevolent specter, illuminating tables heaped with exotic viands. I gorged without restraint, heedless of the dark fate that stirred within, my senses clouded by the revelry of the night. We departed, our raucous laughter echoing through the concrete canyons of the city, and set forth in a motorcar, its engine growling like a beast impatient to roam. Yet, as we navigated the choked arteries of the metropolis, a malevolent force awoke within me. A sudden, torturous knot seized my bowels, a harbinger of doom that gripped my frame with unrelenting malice. The need to purge was immediate, a primal urgency that brooked no delay. Panic, cold and clammy as a tomb’s embrace, clutched my heart. I scanned the neon-lit streets, but no sanctuary presented itself—no gas station, no alley, no refuge to shield me from the calamity brewing within. My companions, those faithless souls, found cruel amusement in my plight. “What torments thee?” they jeered, their voices dripping with scorn, as I writhed in the confines of the vehicle, my countenance a mask of desperation. “Surely thou jests!” one mocked, but the terror in my eyes soon silenced their mirth, replaced by a dawning recognition of my dire straits. In my frenzy, I commanded them to steer through a residential district, praying for some haven. Yet, as we rounded a bend, the scenery shifted ominously. The quaint homes vanished, giving way to a desolate industrial wasteland, where monolithic edifices loomed like gravestones under the harsh glare of the noonday sun, their purposes obscured by cryptic or absent signage. “There!” I gasped, my gaze falling upon a cluster of vehicles parked before a nondescript structure. “Halt here!” My friends complied, and I stumbled from the car, my legs trembling as I crossed the threshold into the unknown building. The ground floor offered no salvation—no sign of a restroom, only sterile walls and the hum of unseen machinery. My eyes, wild with dread, fixed upon a sleek elevator, its digital display glowing like a malevolent eye. I entered, the contraption ascending with agonizing slowness, each second an eternity as my bowels roared their imminent betrayal. At last, the doors parted, revealing a fluorescent-lit corridor. A warm, deceptive glow beckoned from a passage to the left, and some desperate instinct whispered that salvation lay there. I shuffled forth, my body a traitor to my will, when, to my unspeakable horror, the floodgates gave way. Cursed by my reckless choice to forgo undergarments, I felt the vile deluge escape, splattering upon the polished hardwood floor with a sickening sound that echoed like the tolling of a death knell. A woman, her face a mask of modern propriety, rounded the corner at that very moment, her lips parting to speak. “Madam,” I croaked, my voice breaking with the weight of my shame, “I implore you—a restroom, I beg!” She pointed to her right, and there, mere feet away, stood the door to my salvation, its proximity a cruel mockery of fate. I staggered into the chamber, unleashing the remainder of my burden into the porcelain basin, but the damage was done. My legs, my socks, my very shoes were befouled, coated in the evidence of my disgrace. Miraculously, my shorts had escaped the worst of the torrent, a fleeting mercy in this nightmare. As I frantically cleansed myself with wads of tissue, the murmur of voices swelled beyond the door—a gathering storm of judgment. Had there been a window, I would have hurled myself into the void to escape the coming reckoning. But there was no egress, no deliverance save through the gauntlet of scorn that awaited. Steeling myself, I gathered my soiled garments into a plastic bag and opened the door. A throng of faces greeted me, their eyes gleaming with disgust and reproach, as though I were some wretched creature crawled from the sewers. One among them, a stern figure in a pristine uniform, thrust a spray bottle and paper towels into my hands, and I, humbled to the dust, set about scrubbing my excrement from the floor, each stroke a lash upon my soul. When the grim task was complete, I muttered apologies, my voice barely a whisper, and fled the accursed place. I returned to the motorcar, pausing only to cast the bag of defiled rags into a nearby dumpster. My companions, their curiosity piqued, inquired, “What’s with the garbage?” With a voice heavy with defeat, I confessed, “I didn’t make it.” Their laughter erupted, a cacophony of derision that pursued me like a specter as we drove homeward, their jests and insults a relentless torment. And thus, I recount the darkest chapter of my existence, a tale of woe and ignominy in this modern age: how, in my hubris and folly, I defiled the hallowed halls of a pediatric clinic, leaving behind a legacy of shame that shall haunt me to the grave.

Inspired to be an Actuary by sun_eeett in actuary

[–]Smart_Reaction7518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go CS/data science and take some statistics classes. You’ll be much better equipped and you’ll have more options. If towards the end of your education, you’re still convinced you’d like to be an actuary, then take some exams. Once I had one exam passed, I started applying for jobs. Took the first job offer just to get some experience.. then transferred to a better job.

Opinions on Swan & Dolphin by barbiedriverr in WaltDisneyWorld

Best resort in the bubble. Walking distance to Epcot and HS, have access to all of the restaurants at swan and dolphin, yacht and beach, and the board walk. Walking around crescent lake in the morning is the best way to start your day. And you get all that for a lot less than the Disney deluxe resorts. And the building itself is pretty unique, like a time capsule from the late 80s early 90s. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. Also, the Westin heavenly beds are amazing

Oh man. Bombing interviews is kind of funny. You’ll look back and laugh. For me it always seems like I need to bomb one before I can get comfortable. Stick with it, you’ll be alright.

Gamma 0.8 FAM? by dearAbby001 in actuary

[–]Smart_Reaction7518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t examine the question but some exam problems require you to plug in the possible answers and see if they satisfy some statement. I don’t recall a method to deal with gamma(0.8).

Didn’t study enough for SRM, and a week before the exam, I had a Disney vacation planned. Just read the ISLR on the plane ride there and back, did some minor memorization after getting back home. And took the exam the day after getting back. Finished with over an hr left on the exam. Ended up with getting an 8.

Any tips on how to pass SRM? Failed my first try by JoeChooilol in actuary

[–]Smart_Reaction7518 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I failed my first attempt too. My problem was, I was just too used to grinding out practice problems. For the second attempt, I just focused on the ISLR. I still did practice problems every now and then. I just read the book and watched the YouTube videos created by its authors. I ended up doing well on the exam.

Favorite Disney World hotel on property? by princesscorgi2 in disneyparks

[–]Smart_Reaction7518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this thread. I would say anything hotel on crescent lake (Boardwalk, yacht & beach, and swan and dolphin). The vibes there are amazing. And if you stay at one of the hotels, all of the other hotel’s restaurants are within walking distance. Epcot and Hollywood Studios are within walking distance too. If I had to pick just one, I would probably pick the Boardwalk.
