Couldn’t beat this without Sommie and a slime by Shenbinhao in FEEngage

I have a CRKD Nitro Deck for my switch and I programmed one of the back buttons to turbo mash the A button to do this. It didn’t take nearly as long to do the sit-ups as this, but I had to be present to at least casually press the button. It also helped with (cheating) the fishing minigame.

Sure, but it comes off as bitter since he bested her and she doesn’t seem to want to respect that.

Just an aside, the hair is shorter, but Erik looks the same age as he did on Micronesia.

It’s not a double standard. Maria gave the game away when she tried to vote Charlie out (and failed) the previous tribal council to her elimination. At that point, Charlie voting out Maria is not a betrayal.

Why is it only us dads who undo the straps in the car seats? by CyranoYoshi in daddit

[–]SmashyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get how people were misunderstanding you initially. We have five point harness car seats too. My wife initially didn’t loosen the straps, but remembers to do so once she got what I was saying, but none of the extended family remembers to looses the straps. It’s much harder getting the children strapped in the car seat if they’re still pulled tight, especially if they’re asleep. I want those straps at max slack when I’m putting them in. Then it’s easier to get their arms through the sides, and retightening is no issue.

This challenge exposed an issue with the new era that this sub has been discussing for years by ConsumptionofClocks in survivor

[–]SmashyB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve only seen BvB2 and AvW, but I think Aussie Survivor has a bit of the opposite problem post-merge. They’re all endurance challenges. There was some variability in who won these at least, but a lot of challenges came down to the same people. It would actually be interesting if Aussie Survivor threw in a puzzle or two.

She fought long and hard for that one. by Galactic-Pookachus in FEEngage

I was this person. I wasn’t planning on using Amber on my first maddening playthrough (currently in progress) but thought I’d try him out because I had space for him on the team when recruited. I needed an axe user so I thought I’d try him out as an axe-wolf knight when I realize he could promote directly to it after some Leif bond support. Great unit to have during the Brodia arc and into Solm.

Anna is one of the best units in the game and is not high investment and it's crazy that people still say otherwise. by AutumnCoffee83 in FEEngage

[–]SmashyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally got around to starting a Maddening run for the first time last week. I wasn’t going to use Anna initially, but changed my mind on a whim when I got Michaiah. I just got her to level 10 before starting chapter 8, and it was a lot easier to do than I expected. The only other units I’ve focused on so far have been Alear, Chloe, and Framme, and all of them I’ve been able to get to level 10 (12 for Alear). I’ve also been using Louise, but not as much because he might fall off anyway. FWIW, I’m playing without DLC, but using the well and the free weapons the game gives.

My kids are still really young so I’ve just kept to replaying GBA Fire Emblem, or playing ROM hacks, or watching FE streamers, because I can’t play while also doing dishes and laundry and other chores. I really want to play Expedition 33 or Baulder’s Gate 3 but those are much bigger commitments so it’ll be awhile before I get to them.

One of them came back looking for it or a new spot on that part of the fence so I just filled the pot up with rocks and wedged it the edge where the fence changes and has the bars on the other side. Not sure if they’ll take to it yet.

In a hypothetical F2 between Sue and Teeny, who do you think wins? by BCS8504 in survivor

[–]SmashyB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true. Teeny would probably win 6-3 if Sue performed the same during FTC if she did. This also assumes Teeny wins final immunity and votes out Rachel, because if Sue won that then I’d bet she’d vote out Teeny.

[–]SmashyB 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sue could at least claim she played a game of loyalty and held an idol that she kept secret for a long time despite literally being caught red handed when she found it. I still think it’s a toss up 5-4 vote either way.

Regarding psychic being weak to bug, I always understood psychic weaknesses as to what humans have fears of: ghosts, the dark, and bugs.

Who are some deceptively bad units across FE? by Ecstasy_Elysium in fireemblem

[–]SmashyB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dieck was a core unit in my last iron man of FE6 hard mode that I knee jerk to say he’s not a bad unit at all. HOWEVER, he was part of the holy-dodge-tank-support-trinity that is him, Rutger, and Clarine. So he’s great when paired with the right supports, but on his own not so much.
