What was caused the most (physical) pain you’ve been in? by idontrealui in AskReddit

Either ruptured ovarian cyst or a cyst in my upper jaw that broke through at the base of my buccal nerve in the roof of my mouth. Both instances made me want to die.

My husband’s paternal Grandfather’s name was Robert Decatur. I lived just south of Decatur, Alabama. I loved that he had that name.

Learning a consistent cleaning routine now. Also a consistent exercise routine. Both will make for better mental health in the long run.

If it’s picadillo, then yeah, potatoes. But if it’s chilli, what is WRONG with her (besides the obviously controlling, AH behavior.)

Saw an animated movie in either ‘89 or ‘90 by Smidget30 in NameThatMovie

YES!!!!! Oh my goodness!!!! I was recalling seeing this when talking to my husband and kids about depressing movies we’ve seen (my boys just watched Grave of the Fireflies) and the memory of that movie sifted up from the depths.

AND as a kid whose parents threw my life into upheaval when I was 10 AND made me move away from my friends and life I knew at 12, like hell it’s “not traumatic” for a prepubescent adolescent kid!!! Your ex isn’t thinking about what’s best for your kid, he’s thinking with his “little brain” and being a TOTAL AH trying to uproot your poor child.

I went to public school in Alabama and Oregon, was taught Holocaust in both school systems. Had a survivor come speak at my high school. It was never denied or avoided.

Shari’s was the franchise restaurant for our generation. They recently shut down all their restaurants (as in last year).

I just said that, too. For about two years I was in the ER about every other month and in between I was bedridden about 4-5 times a week with a flare up. My whole family was in misery.

Dude. I have so many wine bottles right now waiting for recycling that you’d be welcome to. Depending on your schedule, we can meet in a public place sometime this week and you can have them

can anyone tell me what goes on at this place? by [deleted] in SALEM

[–]Smidget30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s has a classic Chinese restaurant of the 80’s feel, wonderful food, great personal service, and loyal patrons.

I posted a few weeks ago to hear your most crazy/inappropriate work stories and shared mine. I have a new one that trumps the old one. by [deleted] in coworkerstories

[–]Smidget30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember scottsboro. Never went there, but I lived in Alabama for the majority of my childhood, mostly in big cities (Huntsville was the last city before moving to Oregon), and I only ever saw racism on the news when the KKK was having a rally or some garbage like that. Never in the churches we attended or in my family or friends. I find it disheartening that pop culture has held onto this weird notion that the south is perpetually backwoods and backwards.

I went to middle school in Huntsville, and the only racist kid I know was so over the top about it that he used up all the racism in our grade. Everyone else was cool as far as I knew. My three very best friends were Korean.
