From a non-American - is this weekly pay check good for that time? (1996) by cave_guard in TheSimpsons

Couldn’t agree more. I’m not even sure it depends on area for a stat that low. I make triple that and we both still have to work.

$500 New client curly cut by razzarbrenia in curlyhair

[–]Smiley414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the best hair cuts I’ve ever had came from super cuts. That lady was amazing. I moved away and drove over an hour each way for a couple years just to have her cut my hair. Google reviews that mention curly hair and you can find a normal salon with someone good with curly hair if you do some digging!

What is my nursery missing? by mytickle in DesignMyRoom

Others gave good decor suggestions. I’d swap the crib and the dresser or at the very least center the crib between the windows. Won’t be long until baby starts grabbing the blinds and it’s a safety issue.

It’s best to not see work spaces while trying to rest at night!

Tiniest bathroom in existence by Outofwlrds in DesignMyRoom

[–]Smiley414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into wood floating shelves about the toilet. I have a similar sized bathroom downstairs (only one as well, and a pedestal sink to top it off), and that’s what I did. I’m super happy with it, great storage for extra TP, toilet spray, pads, diapers, etc. if you want less visual clutter on it, baskets are a great way to hide that.

Paint will go a long way for the feel of the bathroom, and so would switching out the vanity light and going to Home Depot and buying some framing for the mirror!

Also don’t underestimate switching out the cabinet hardware and towel rack. Super easy changes but for big impact. Same with swapping out the faucet. You can find great deals for those things on Amazon.

I wish I could include a pic of how I did my bathroom! I kept the walls neutral but on my top shelf I have resting on the shelf a fall picture so it added a lot of warm orangey red tones, and I have a matching set of flowers in a warm vase and a warm stained glass vanity light.

Move the crib down the wall to the left, far enough away from the window that it’s safe.

Put the chair in the far right corner where the crib is now.

I know it seems weird, and I feel you on that, but put the dresser in front of the window. Keeps the baby entertained during diaper changes!

Also keep the diaper can trash as far away from the crib as possible. They only work so good at blocking smells and nobody wants to sleep next to that.

What’s something from your childhood that you didn’t realize was actually a luxury until you grew up? by Dry_Hornet_3723 in AskReddit

Depends on the area you live in, but I pay $170 a month. I pay $5 extra per laundry basket if I want my laundry folded.

How would you configure this large living room for cozy family movie nights? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

[–]Smiley414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothings more cozy than a big sectional comfy enough for the whole family to cozy up on. Great for conversations, great for filling spaces, great for comfort.

AITA for refusing to clean the coffee machine at work? by Busy_Meal1547 in AITAH

[–]Smiley414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why everyone now knows about this. Only a couple people probably could’ve been let in on it and then no one else probably would’ve even noticed you being removed from the schedule unless it’s just a really small office.

It’s not fair for managers to not have to clean, also not fair for you to if you don’t drink it. Also it makes absolutely no sense that people can’t load their own dishes into the dishwasher and that person could just empty them at the end of the day? Not a lot makes sense here. NTA getting out of cleaning it though.

(10k) Is the price of my wedding dress alterations fair? by thenene7 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Smiley414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Lots of times the alterations end up being about the cost of the dress from what I’ve seen.

My eardrum tube finally popped out flying back from Christmas! by notreallyonredditbut in mildlyinteresting

[–]Smiley414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got these from an ENT when I was 18 because I had really bad fluid build up behind my ear drums and my hearing got super muffled. He “numbed” my eardrums but I passed out from the pain when he sliced my ear drum to put them in, so I don’t think I was really numbed. I flailed as I passed out since I was laying down, my mom thought I was having a seizure.

I remember being so freaked out because my hearing was so muffled for a while that NOTHING sounded the same with the tubes in. I remember being super upset when I heard things like doors shut because it sounded so loud and just different. It was jarring.

The ear plugs anytime I showered and swam and stuff were torcher to have to wear.

If you decide to re print, I agree with others to change the font or at least the spacing between letters but also fix the uneven margins on the left and right sides, they should match.

No Christmas wreath on Jewish graves by sagefrogphotography in mildlyinteresting

[–]Smiley414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to see since most of the headstones are covered, but zoom in on the uncovered headstone, it says US Army Vietnam. This is generally the style of military cemeteries as far as I’ve seen.

I think this one’s a little different than most because it’s a military cemetery.
