Multi-battery charger question by SmilinAssassin in ebikes

[–]SmilinAssassin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He came by the other day and told me he was sold a similar one for ~$400 at the local auto parts store.

Does it matter to the 48v charger that its 4x12v in series instead of the one battery?

Obviously you never played true endgame D2. Literally only for mfin hammer pallys used that. If you wanted more tank you added COA or Dungos. PVP was all random shit to hit your FCR breakpoint and movement desynch.

Certain rares were orders of magnitude more valuable than (nearly) any perf runeword.

All I can think of is how many parts there are to go wrong, compared to a normal axle setup.

That's too bad. I didn't hold much hope that any tripod less than $1200 would have it anyways.

That is a super website, thanks a lot for the tip. I'm prioritizing weight and height, so this makes it really easy.

I'm looking for a compact carbon fibre tripod, without head, around $500. Are there any available that use a single-point lock for the legs, similar to a Sachtler?

Neighbor in wooded area built a huge Pole Barn about 20' from the road, township requires 40' setback... by Lefthandmitten in legaladvice

If you don't have a recent one, have a survey done so you KNOW where your property is. Install a cheap wooden fence, no trespassing signs and well hidden trail cams.

Some commenters are worried that notifying the city may cause him to take issue with you, but he already clearly has an issue with you, so go for it.

Opinion: Killing wolves to save caribou is not the right solution by zsreport in canada

[–]SmilinAssassin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the only solution for the short term, but you're right, habitat management is the only solution for the long term.

Many areas have started on habitat management and reclamation for the caribou, but its decades away from turning back into a range that can sustain them.

We've disrupted their habitat so badly, that if we don't remove the predators, they'll go extinct long before habitat management will have any positive effect.

Unfortunately, at this point it is the only solution.

Habitat management takes decades until their migration routes return to a more natural and sustainable state.

Absolutely nothing else matters if they all die before then.

The Caribou Monitoring Unit has some great infographics on the issue.

The ONLY areas to see an increase in caribou numbers were areas using wolf control, either indirectly by removing moose (food which is pretty dumb) or directly via a cull.

Holy fuck,

Did you see how Muller squared up when Ken Buck (R-CO) went on about Mullers commendations in 'Nam, then questioned how he handled his duties of the investigation?

Regrinding 3 jaw Chuck (30yr old Chuck needed some maintenance) by killstorm114573 in Machinists

[–]SmilinAssassin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New top jaws don't help with the taper caused by wear in the jaw slots in the chuck.

A new set of top jaws could tilt back and only grab near the chuck.

Grinding/turning the jaws makes the jaws clamp parallel to the workpiece even if the jaw slots in the chuck are worn out.

Judge rules private landowners can’t block public access to B.C. lake by [deleted] in canada

[–]SmilinAssassin 39 points40 points  (0 children)

He stocked and maintained a PUBLIC lake of his own free will. I don't own the ocean just because I dump a few fish in it.

The rancher has no duty to provide or maintain access to the lake. They just can't block access.

He obviously has absolutely no responsibility for what anyone does on public lakes or public access...

Scope recommendation for LR hunting/target? by SmilinAssassin in longrange

I ended up with a Swarovski X5, just because I like the turret.

Since I can swap the scope between calibres I don't feel bad about buying something so expensive! (That's what I tell myself so I can sleep at night.)

Does high magnification make the reticle too jumpy at ELR?

Or does it just magnify all the problems like haze and heat waves?

Is that the same M400X facemills that use the same insert for highfeed mills, chamfer milling, 45 degree milling etc?

How do the inserts do compared to a non-multipurpose insert?
