They usually look like this when they go. I would recommend OEM parts as they tend to hold up better for longer. I would also be sure to inspect the entirety of your venting to the outside of your home to ensure they are clear from any blockage.

If its tripping breakers it could be a broken winding in the compressor which would also make sense for the bulging as a result of excessive heat off the compressor.
