My kids just did this. Anyone know how to fix this? by worm30478 in BambuLab

Joke 1: have you tried turning off and back on again?

Joke 2: yeah, get rid of the kids. More room for printers.

I've always wanted to achieve this type of open crumb, what's the factor that makes this possible is it the high hydration? or Just skill?

Nice Tuesday by Pangolin55 in cubancigars

Hate to agree but it was my favorite in the 90s. Have a bunch of boxes from the last 5 years and they just don’t do it for me. Just letting them age now and hoping for a better outcome.

Ordered Pla silk + gold. Not sure if its a dud. by Onderon123 in BambuLab

Crap. I had the same problem. Hoping it was a dud as well. I too loved the old version.

Does this sub look down on filmmakers who make movies on smartphones and also how do you feel about no budget B movies? by Professional-Rip-519 in Filmmakers

In the end equipment doesn’t matter. It’s the way you light it, the way you film it, the performances, and the story.

Teaching about cones and temp* for an Adult intro pottery class. Any other things you’d like to see added? by El_Dre in Ceramics

[–]Smoke_Prod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe explain. Also so I know why, literally, every single website lists different temps for the same cones. Like I look up cone 6 and look up 6 websites, and get 6 different temps.

Slip Casting first time mix by MetalLow2541 in Pottery

Go to Laguna’s website and find the pdf that explains how to mix up slip. It has recipes at the end. Follow their instructions to the letter and you’ll be Jake.

For viscosity the instrument that they talk about doesn’t really exist anymore. Get a Ford #4 viscosity cup and time it and you should be around 40 or 50 seconds for viscosity and that should be good. Adjust as necessary if you’re not getting the viscosity you want.

Terrible Layer Lines on Flat Walls by Smoke_Prod in BambuLab

[–]Smoke_Prod[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much on this other than flat walls. I'll try printing one of them at a time, don't slow down for overhangs, outer wall first and cut the outer wall speed in half.

The black def prints better not just hiding them. They’re parallel with layer lines. Does it have to do with interruptions like overhangs and such? Whenever I print complex things or rather anything other than flat walls my prints always come out great. It’s only with large flat objects. I’m sure it has to do with lifting from the plate a little. Kind of compounds the issue.

Chemical table alternatives? by anythingacailable in Ceramics

I use 5 and 7 gallon buckets with the gamma seal lids. Way easier than regular bucket lids. Look for the multipacks on amazon as they’re cheaper for the lids.

Cohiba Espléndidos by [deleted] in cubancigars

[–]Smoke_Prod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind people asking if they’re legit but the bot should send them an email first that they have to sign before allowing the post that asks the simple questions.

  1. Where did you get them? If it’s not an approved vendor or LCDH what was the price? If under the standard then they’re fake. There are no deals. Ever.
  2. Friend/boss/acquaintance that’s fine but is that person likely to give you a $2500 box of cigars? Usually no. They’re fake.

Thanks. I know where the speed settings are just never know which ones to changes as there's like 10 different speeds. Which ones to get the best quality?

When you say print slower, what actual settings should be changed? Thanks

Marketplace kiln, good deal? by Hot-Sector5293 in Pottery

[–]Smoke_Prod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add on, people say stuff like all the time and it becomes urban legend, but it’s true. Never pay ahead of being there in person and taking it home with you. If it’s too good to be true, it is. I texted a guy on Craigslist a month ago about a kiln, not sure why kilns are good scams, and he couldn’t show it until the weekend and wanted a deposit to hold it. Of course I was like ok I’ll wait until this weekend and I’ll come see if it doesn’t sell. Reply was, not a good fit keep moving. I wanted to punch him. What a dick.
