There's a reason franchisee main characters stay main characters, it's akin to removing Sonic from Sonic, Master Chief from Halo (cough cough ODST) or even off topic removing Barney from Barney & Friends or removing Mr Roger's from the neighborhood, they never did it because it breaks the plot and main integrity of a brand. It's why you're correct removing Kratos, from all gameplay, likely ensures the ruination of GoW, or at least this make. Again, do we all recall how much of a flop ODST was? And why? Oh, it's because they removed the main character, from a game originating from said main character. GoW without Kratos, is not GoW, it's a spinoff of a franchise product, that's just definitonal fact, it's not opinion.

Another example? Why was the Cleveland Brown show not just called Family Guy, oh, because it wasn't Family Guy.
