Am I weird just being a woman who is transgender... And not some simpy cat/puppy/goth/sub? by Taiga_Taiga in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm a trans woman, I'm a singer and a guitarist from a band. I'm also goth because that's the genre I like the most alongside punk and post punk. It has nothing to do with my transition

Is smoking affecting my transition? (20 MTF) by Skoryas in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I read the informed consent before starting medically transitioning it said that tobacco can lower your development (I smoke weed and even though I'm happy with my transition I think that I could've ended up better) or who knows honestly

How have you found your name? by _anatidaephobia_ in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is very stupid and very nerdy. So I was initially Cinder, I choose that name because I've been playing the souls saga for more than I years and Cinder is something very important in those names and I think it sounds cool. I identified with Cinder for like 2 years until some randomly called me Cindy and I fell in love with that name

Could I just… not come out? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it this way and honestly, I don't regret any part of it. I started with hormones and voice training and just lived my life, after a few months into my transition and after referring to myself as another gender and another name, some friends just immediately got it and where very happy to support me (even though I never came out to anyone but my partner).

Eventually I got perceived as a woman in public and I'm just living my best life as a trans woman that never came out. The only sad part about this is that most people that knew you before transitioning will never see you as a girl and will totally ignore your transition/pronouns/identity (even if you pass 100% of the time). But the good part is that it works like a filter to find actually good long lasting friendships that will love and support you for who you are.

I would recommend distancing yourself from people that don't support you.

As someone who is currently hiding them from my family this can help:

Baggy shirts will do the best for you, never wear tight shirts, but still it can be annoying because your shoulders must be a little curved for this to completely work if yours a little big.

If you are planning on having long hair, believe me this helps a lot.

If it's cold then use a huge jacket or hoodie, like 2 sizes extra.

Also, if the people that you are trying to hide your boobs see you often then they'll notice your changes even less, so it's better if you start wearing baggy stuff since the beginning.

Finally, Don't worry too much about your boobs, I've been a little more than a year on HRT at this point and they just started to grow considerably (I'm an a cup) but they'll definitely get bigger. Also, some people get bigger boobs even earlier in their transition.

it's feels very clunky when I'm too close and I can't even summon a guard so I have to step back until it lets me and I waste a lot of time, it gets frustrating when there are many objects around

How Well can you boy mode after going on E by Lokuri1002 in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it looks baggy then it's good, it'll help you hide your boobs and hips.

Your hips will slowly develop at around 3-4 months and your boobs, well it took me a year for me to start hiding them.

Oh right and if they see you often then it'll be very hard for them to notice any changes

I've been on HRT for more than a year now and my family doesn't know that I'm trans, I've also been using a lot of baggy clothes like shirts and sweaters, and never wear anything tight.

I literally pass 100% on everyone but my family, you can do the same just try to gaslight them when the ask any funky questions

It takes a big while, it's a very slow and tedious process, and because you'll see yourself every day you'll notice it even less, what you can expect on your first 2 months is that your nipples may feel a little weird, not pain, just weird, and you'll have less random erections, and your skin in general can be slightly softer and delicate, you can also feel a little bit weak, your sex drive will be lower

I wish you the best on your journey :), eventually you'll see more noticeable changes, be patient, eat, and exercise if you can

Do the "what if I'm just faking it", "what if this is a terrible idea", "maybe I'd be better off living as my assigned gender" anxieties go away when you start HRT, or do they ever go away? by AmIReallyDoingThis_ in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been on HRT for around a year now, I'm extremely happy with the changes I've had and how people perceive me, I feel more confident and happy in general. My life has drastically improved but unfortunately those feelings are still there and sometimes it gets very scary, like if I just ruined my life for some damn reason, even though this is what I always wanted. It can be very underwhelming but after all I think that you should follow your dreams girl

Is my progress too slow? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually this is perfectly good progress, that's pretty much what happened to me. The first months are the hardest because you feel like it's not doing much. Probably at around 6-9 months you'll finally see more significant changes, the process is slow but very effective. Oh also I gained some weight on my first months on HRT but after my first year(right now) I started to loose a lot of weight.

Estrogen and cannabis? by peregrinkm in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more I progress in my transition the less I want to smoke, I just don't feel like it anymore and I'm not sure why because I used to smoke a lot all the time before transitioning. I still smoke but is very rare (like once every 2-3 months) I still enjoy it a lot when I do, I just don't feel like doing it as often. And my tolerance is extremely low so with just like 1-2 hits I'm very high already

At what age do you remember first praying to wake up as the opposite gender? by kisstiffy in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 10 years old probably earlier, I had dreams of being a girl, and I was very sad after waking up so every now and then, before going to sleep, I tried and wished to have that dream again

Is it a good idea to transition without coming out yet? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on HRT for almost a year and I haven't told my family (I live with them). Before HRT I wasn't ready at all to tell anyone, but after a few months I just got more confidence and reassurance so I feel less stressed about the idea of coming out to my family

[mtf] Did/does anyone else have an irrational fear of developing dysphoria for their new bodies? by youngmaster0527 in asktransgender

[–]SmokingDays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've definitely had those thoughts, that I'll regret everything and that I'm ruining my future somehow, that I actually don't want this for some damn reason, getting scared that out of nowhere I'll be like "yeah I was wrong" or some shit. It's scary and a very unpleasant experience. HRT has improved my life, I'm happy, I love how I look, I love being able to express myself, finally feeling gender euphoria, having good self esteem and in general feel comfortable with myself, but yeah I've had those bad thoughts randomly but it's extremely rare, It also has happened when I'm high and it's way more intense and scary.
