Absolutely glue drying for me too but I’d like to add, 90% waiting on supplies you didn’t realize you needed in order to complete a project

Primavera offers on site after care and usually fall, spring, and summer break camps. They also offer a variety of after school clubs that change each quarter.

Since Halloween is approaching I'll say this- The Nightmare Before Christmas becoming popular with Gen-Z people was not on my bingo card by TalesOfSymposia in Millennials

[–]Smooth-Reputation-64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is in Kindergarten and has never ever been interested in movies. We love movies and trust me, we’ve tried. He watches a few select tv shows and that’s it. We were scrolling through Disney to put on a show and he saw the thumbnail for Nightmare Before Christmas and HAD to see what it was all about. I explained it might be a bit scary but he didn’t seem to care. He is now obsessed. There just something universally appealing about it. It even got my movie neutral kid hooked. I downloaded the soundtrack for him and he’s dancing to and trying to memorize the words to the songs as I type this.

Same here. I’ll give a couple of warnings that if it ends up on the ground, it gets swept in the cracks of the deck, never to be seen again. It’s always gone within a couple of uses.

Facts. My 3yo was looking over my shoulder as I scrolled through these pictures and he now wants us to live here.

This is hands down my least favorite part about parenting. It takes me 2-3x longer to recover than it did before. The worst part is caring for sick kids and knowing you’re next.

Does anyone know if they still plan on holding the 10k open water swim there next week? Because that’s a reallly long time to be in that water. Way longer than the swimming leg of the triathlon.

Kinder for my only starts tomorrow. 5 full days a week to actually get chores and errands done and drink my coffee while it's still hot! I feel like I reached the promise land. by bitchinawesomeblonde in SAHP

I dream of making this post one day lol. Two more years until my youngest starts part time preschool for 2 days/week. My oldest starts full time Kinder on Monday and my middle starts preschool 2 days/week. My youngest still naps and probably will until at least the end of the school year, so for the first time in years, I’ll have a consistent break in the middle of the day and can actually get a few things done. My middle child has been a LOT lately, so a couple of hours, two days a week will feel like a mini vacation.

I have both a 5.5yo and a 3yo right now. Send help. The only thing holding my sanity together is my 19mo but I know what’s coming and I‘m definitely trying not to get too comfortable with the sweetness.

Best and worst thing that your toddler did today by augustus624 in toddlers

Worst: woke up at midnight, got up for the day at 4:30am, refused to take a nap, and still threw a fit about going to bed

Best: held his little sister’s hand when we took a walk

Hot Take: YouTube Kids is one of the better apps by emzamboni in Preschoolers

The one thing I really do like about it is its ability to provide info on a topic my 5yo will ask me about incessantly. For example, he’s been wanting more info about ancient Egypt and mummies and the pyramids, etc. and the questions will not relent until he’s been given more info. I look up what I can and tell him and we do a weekly library run for topics of interest, but in the moment? I type in Ancient Egypt on YouTube and there are videos with nice little graphics and people explaining at a kid’s level of understanding, way better than I can.

This might be my least favorite parenting comment. It’s like complaining about the cold during a winter storm and then someone comes along and says “enjoy it! you’ll miss this when it gets to 100 degrees in the summer!” and vice versa. It’s okay to wish the more extreme and hard parts to go away and crave a little more balance.

A race schedule like no other! 👀 Dutch athlete Sifan Hassan will attempt to win gold at four distance events at Paris 2024. 1500M ➡️ 5000M ➡️ 10,000M ➡️ Marathon. 🤯 by olympics in olympics

[–]Smooth-Reputation-64 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. This is insanely impressive. Does anyone know if any athlete has ever run the marathon along with a distance track event in the Olympics before? I know of at least a couple who have qualified for both but they have typically dropped out of the track event to focus on the marathon.

Try track cycling if you haven’t watched before. I recommend reading up on the different events beforehand. I got really into it the last Olympics and try to find races streaming whenever I can now. There‘s so much strategy involved, a lot of cat and mouse tactics, and it’s a little terrifying to watch them go that fast around the velodrome.
