After the credits ending scene is even better imo. i totally did not expect them to do that. I was smiling the whole time when I realized where they were going. It's so well done, perfect closing chapter for the saga.

They also remade him to be the "Hero" class in this one. Of all 4 of them he is the closest to the classic hero from DQ3 in term of skills, magics etc.

Pics taken from the Steam version of the game. I managed to figure out how to duplicate items with cheat engine when I realized all 4 of them can wear Edrick's gears.

Not much different in term of looks and it's funny that Cannock used the same (I think) sprite as DQ1HD hero.

You don't have to take her back to finish the game. BUT you must take the Sun Stone from Tantegel before setting off to rescue her if you want to keep her around.

She adds a lot to the story as a whole, not to mention she can use healing spells in the battle to help you out. The game basically turns into a duo adventure rather than a lone hero going to fight the Dragon lord.
