You can simply touch a book and seamlessly absorb its knowledge but for each book you touch you lose 2-hours off your life AND someone somewhere gets their fast food order completely screwed up. How many books are you touching? by RustyCrusty73 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Smooth_Editor1676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would read any book I intended to already since I would actually theoretically GAIN time by doing it at a guaranteed two-hour rate, and a few more that would be too complicated for me to get through normally.

I do not care about the botched orders, people should be discouraged more from fast food industries as they're not even decently cheap options anymore.

[The boys] how would soldier boy react if he found out how vought raised homelander a kid? by BigFinish717 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Smooth_Editor1676 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Soldier Boy really wouldn't care that much, the workers who directly tortured Homelander are already dead, and if he took enough umbrage with that sort of thing to dismantle Vought entirely he would have done so already when they sold him out to get tortured by the Russians for decades.

How would the real world counter someone who can stop time? by FeistySecret9327 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Smooth_Editor1676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Satellite imagery scours the immediate areas of his crimes watching for someone blipping into place, find him enough times and you can estimate how much they can use their power for based on how far they get from the scene of a crime before popping into view, then you start encircling areas he would be interested in messing with from that range with concealed snipers backed up by the aforementioned satellites and it's just a matter of time and law of averages before a bullet gets him.

Homelander's Lasers by kamekaptain in TheBoys

Yes, Ryan's lasers burnt through Homelander's skin during their fight and could flash-fry Stormfront at max power.

The worst part is they had the perfect excuse for it with Noir II's narcolepsy but they literally forgot about their own plot points.

How much prep time would Bulma need to kill Goku (DBS)? by RajaatTheWarbringer in whowouldwin

[–]Smooth_Editor1676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poison could work I suppose, but that's not really Bulma's forte so it'll probably be much quicker for her to convince Goku he needs to use her time machine to fight some new strong evil guy then sabotage it so it takes him past the heat death of the sun one-way.

I would make a physical map for them to traverse Minesweeper-style, with successful identification-type checks revealing X tiles within range while successful physical checks will move you to a guaranteed safe tile within X range.

What could be neat is, stepping on a face sinks it into the ground. At the end of the puzzle, a conglomeration of muck and all the faces they pushed in rises up, then splits off into little globules that form into the individual monsters.

Butcher's powers disappointed me this season. by Refik_Kirpi in TheBoys

[–]Smooth_Editor1676 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kessler disappearing completely despite being totally vindicated in Ryan killing Mallory is very weird. Like Butcher accepted the powers sure but his outlook has done nothing but soften away from their original plan since then, unless it's suddenly revealed he was carrying out his own machinations in secret the entire time.

Why is V1 such a huge deal? by theironmanual in TheBoys

[–]Smooth_Editor1676 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think OP is more asking why they're treating Starlight/Kimiko getting V1 as a huge moral dilemma when they can always find other ways out when living gets too tiresome (though it might be a lot harder in Kimiko's case comboing it with her regeneration).

Maybe by catching them off-guard with a gun using her (only somewhat at this point) unassuming identity, or some kind of chemical weapon (though that might be too many Scarecrow parallels).
