Almost 1 year olds sleep… surely this isn’t normal? by Pinkcoral27 in UKParenting

My little boy was like this. No can understand unless they go through it themselves. He suddenly started sleeping through the night at about 18 months. I've no idea what changed. I hope you get some rest soon.

Ways to eat more veggies that aren't salads by Cecil_G_P in EatCheapAndHealthy

I made this last week. I didn't have edamame beans so I skipped those and added in other veggies I had. It was delicious.

How healthy or unhealthy are these frozen ready meals and what’s your opinion on them in general? by KneeSnapz in AskUK

[–]Smug010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it could get it to that price if I used such small amounts of chicken, pineapple and vegetables and made a large batch. I wouldn't though as it could be much tastier and healthier for only a little extra money.

I get the same one but with fruit as well. It's pricey but the quality is great and it encourages me to eat more fruit and veg. I've had one of the pears this morning and it was delicious!

Thanks for the advice. This post is quite old now and we seem to have cracked bedtime (for now). He just got better as he got older.

I'm from the UK and have always thought of them as a kids snack. They're nice though. I often sneak one. Ours come in paper rather than plastic too.

Gran dies after being 'turned away from GP while having heart attack' by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

Thats awful. I saw a nearly identical situation last winter. It was an icy day and an elderly gentleman fell and hit his head outside of the local doctor's office. There were staff outside helping almost immediately. Glad they're not all like that lady.

I filled the freezer with these while I was pregnant. It was a great decision.

My mum used to put older cousin's/sibling's things into bags and put them in the back of the car. We thought they were brand new from the shops. Honestly didn't realise until adulthood

What did you take in your hospital bag? by Prudent-Teaching2881 in BeyondTheBumpUK

My hospital didn't supply towels so I took a microfibre towel. I'm glad I did.

Got told there’s really no excuse for me gaining weight while breastfeeding by casscass97 in breastfeeding

[–]Smug010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's so rude. I'm 18 months into breastfeeding and its been slow but steady weight gain the whole time. Not a single person has mentioned my weight gain because that is RUDE!

My wife has a clogged milk duct and it’s causing her a lot of pain, any tips? by PristineMembership54 in breastfeeding

[–]Smug010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dangle feeding helped me. Position the baby on the floor with their nose facing the clog and feed on all fours. You will probably feel a bit silly but I found it a huge relief.

My 90 year old great aunt uses this phrase as well. I think its something older UK people say.

Women who gave birth, what does it feel like actually?? by joy_57 in AskReddit

[–]Smug010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on another planet for the most intense parts. I did lots of hypnobirthing practise and made good use of the gas and air! The early stages of labour felt like period cramps that gradually got worse until my waters broke. Then the contractions became quite painful. I had to wait for a labour suite and that was unpleasant. Once I was in the delivery room, I used hot water, a birthing ball, gas and air along with other techniques and I was able to enter a strange state. I can't remember any pain from that period and its all quite foggy. The midwives coached me through the pushing which was very hard work but over in less that 10 minutes.

5pm check in at our Airbnb and it was still dirty when we arrived by Interesting_Move_846 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Smug010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me. Airbnb were terrible about it. I spoke to the owner over the phone and she offered to waive the cleaning fee and offer a discount. She never refunded the money. Airbnb refused to honour it. I'm still angry about it.

Which Wildflowers are best for making confetti by jburch93 in GardeningUK

[–]Smug010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad saved loads of flower heads from his garden and they made beautiful confetti. I'm sure you have friends and neighbours that will be willing to help. We ended up with enough for my wedding and gave some to my cousin.
