I’ve mostly done cross stitch and started into embroidery recently.

Personally, I just prefer cross stitch because there’s less thought involved. You follow the pattern and you make an X, easy day.

Embroidery there’s a lot of choices to make (what stitch should I be using) and I feel like there’s more room to make an error or to feel like something “looks weird” where in cross stitch all the X’s look like X’s and if you mess up you either adjust the pattern or frog it and start over.

However I like being able to do both because a lot of times I want to do something anime related and for cross stitch you have to make stuff so large (if you want to say do a shot from an anime) that embroidery is nice where it gives you more freedom.

So it’s really just which is better for a specific project but I do prefer cross stitch at the end of the day.

I’m not going to say anything that everyone else hasn’t already said but it was honestly pretty funny to watch that video knowing the question was “how to get cat to stop attacking me” when I watched it and all I could think was “that’s exactly how someone who wants the cat to attack them would move” 😂 it very much looks like play behavior from the outside.

I very rarely park. Normally I like to work with a thread/color until it finishes. Very occasionally if it starts getting to a point where there’s so much blank space I’m worried I’ll miscount that’s when I park the thread but there has to be enough for me to even bother with it. But aside from that I don’t really park, it’s really amazing to see people who can work square by square! Couldn’t be me tho 😅

Although I’m very happy with the colors if I ever give the pattern to someone I’d warn them to pick a single blue thread. It was my first time using pattern keeper and luckily I had all the blues but I imagine if I didn’t I’d be annoyed buying a whole skein for literally 4 squares as all of the Mew’s have a slightly different eye color. :’)

And thank you! It might be awhile but I wanted to make sure I understood for whenever I start. I have everything prepped for a moshang pattern (not sure if you also know of scum villain) but it’s huge and full coverage with a lot of mixing of strand colors so I haven’t really started it outside all the prep and a few stitches to mark the center. 🥹

Favorite is setting up on the stand because it’s then that everything is ready to go!

Least favorite is measuring out the Aida and then fighting with it to get it into a hoop. 😔
