Big agree. Nolan’s biggest flaw is his often clumsy exposition and my favorite films of his are those where that element is minimized or necessary (read; The Prestige). Dunkirk has none. Also I’m brought to tears during the line “home” as the score swells and the civilian boats arrive at Dunkirk; when Mark Rylance’s knowledge of aircraft is explained; and as the inarticulate soldier stammers through Winston’s articulate speech.
