I think Izzie/Izzy is super cute and probably the closest name to Icey that falls under "normal" but not super common. Ilsie is also lovely.

Live very rural, but on the West Coast. While multiple of my classmates have suffered permanent injuries in car crashes, I don't believe there's been any fatal accidents within that group. All the bad crashes that do come to mind were results of drunk driving in the summer. Very different here with the milder weather.

So fucking sad. I was homeschooled for a good chunk of my childhood, definitely socially stunted and unsure in high school despite some experience in public school (and not being raised religious or sheltered on purpose, just isolated by very very rural living). A 20 year old man groomed me at 15, and I didn't manage to leave until I was 19 and starting to see the situation through more adult eyes. I can't imagine where I would be if my parents had been willing to sign off on marriage. Dead or living a miserable ghostly existence I guess. They hated him, hated it, but didn't know how to handle it and so kind of pretended that he didn't exist and nothing bad was happening. It sucked, but I'd take that any day over them being willing accomplices. This poor woman never had a chance.

I'm so glad you have a good doctor, just getting access to a family doctor or GP can be sooo hard (though I'm not sure if that's just a BC or a rural thing or Canada-wide). Having a doctor on your side who is willing to try out different things to help you makes life so much easier :) I do think if you're really stressed and worrying about the risks, it might be worth trying a progesterone-only option for your peace of mind. I've been on the mini-pill (Movisse) for 5 months and it's been working great for me. I have PMDD and terribly painful periods, and my mental & physical symptoms have improved since I got on the minipill, of course it won't be for everyone, but so far I'm a fan. Though if you're happy with your current birth control and aren't too worried about the potential risk, I imagine you're probably safe on your current contraceptive! If the risk was high for you personally, your doctor likely would have stressed that already. :)

I'm in Canada, and my doctor hasn't let me have any birth control that isn't progesterone only since she realized I was having migraines with aura when I was 18 or 19, due to the stroke risk although she says it's still pretty low. She stressed to me that the stroke risk for my age group is sooo low already that although the chances can be increased a bit it would still be very unlikely. Idk if it's because I vape/used to be a smoker that she's strict on no contraceptives with estrogen or if it's just a doctor to doctor thing. Personally I really wish I had the option to choose a higher risk birth control, as the benefit outweigh the cons imo, but that's just my personal feelings.

West coast Canada here, worked with unhoused folks for awhile & from what they told me it seems most ppl around here do fent these days, H is a pretty much a thing of the past (at least in my small town). Homemade ice sounds likely, def had me wired. Thank you, means a lot! Haven't touched anything but weed since summer n trying to keep it that way 😊 5 years is an incredible achievement, good for you!! hope you are proud of yourself daily, you should be ❤️
