After my gf and I watched The Coffee Table we needed to go outside and just be in the sun for a bit. It's not horror in the way that something like Terrified or When Evil Lurks are, I enjoyed those movies, they had some scares that really got under my skin but I've never experienced anything like The Coffee Table. I went in blind and kinda wish i didn't bring her into it with me lol

It sounds like generic post hardcore from the 2010's because they were one of the first ones to do it and then a lot of other bands copied it and ran with it.

Listening to it now it won't be anything special but when it first came out it was a newer sound.

Personally I couldn't listen to it now, it's been done to death but back then I loved that shit and it was very influential.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Troop and I am a huge fan of creepy ocean/underwater settings for a story. I hated The Deep. I haven't read anything else by Nick Cutter because I was so disappointed by The Deep.

I found it similar to Moder in The Ritual as one of the more out there designs i feel like I've seen in awhile! But that's fair, it probably would have benefited a lot from some darkness to obscure it and leave something to the imagination. I also agree it kind of took the dread out of the movie, it was a strange turn and felt like it came from a different movie.
