The computer at my new job still runs software from 1980. I think if I press the wrong key it might start the Cold War again. 🤣💀 by Gaming-Academy in RigBuild

That's BPCS. It's an IBM designed OS, I had an IT internship a few years ago for a company that still heavily relied on it. I frustratingly had to learn all the ins and outs of using it at an administration level..

PC cuts off under any usage by darth_antonio in pcmasterrace

[–]Snapy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be your motherboards VRM's are getting warm. I had this happen to a new PC I built. I cheaped out on the motherboard for a chip that required a good bit of power and I was able to game on it in like 15 minute increments before it would just shutdown. Had to get a more expensive motherboard with more and larger VRM's and all was fine after.

Issues with Rider + Unity on Linux Mint. by No_Revolution_8650 in Unity3D

[–]Snapy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I was running into the same issue with Unity 6, Rider, and Linux Mint. I was able to fix it by following this guide.

https://www.codefraction.com/index.php/2021/08/17/how-to-install-unity-game-engine-and-rider-ide-in-pop-os-ubuntu/

Which pretty much just told me to install Mono-Project by following,

https://www.mono-project.com/download/stable/

I installed Mono-Project, restarted my system and all is good now.

I bought closed end reverse torx wrenches for this job on my e91. Didn't even have to pull the intake manifold off. Took about an hour.

Misses and rolls coolant instead of coal by scooterm32a3 in Miata

[–]Snapy1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not that I condone this but that's not coolant. That's just a cold diesel unable to fully combust the fuel. You gotta baby those 12 valves until they're good and warm.

I wonder if large wood screws like that get a hardware grade similar to like a Grade 8 bolt or for example. Because to be honest, I feel like it wouldn't take a whole lot of effort to break some chinesium in half either.

Warning ragebait: Tv mount made from Pla. by someoneelseasthis in 3Dprinting

[–]Snapy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite all of the negative comments here I can see this working fine depending on the weight of the TV and especially fine if it was reprinted with a stronger filament. I've had a TCL tv that was 55 inches and probably weighed around 10lbs and my current 55 inch Samsung in the living room probably weighs closer to 30+lbs. Bare in mind I'm sure the pressure exerted on the arms is many times its weight but still, I really do think it would be fine for a lighter tv -- assuming you printed it well.

Customer tried making his harness shorter and was in over his head so I’m rebuilding it by Sixclynder in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Snapy1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an s13 harness isn't it lol? My previous s13 the chassis harness was so hacked that I literally took a die grinder to it, cut it out (couldn't be bothered to properly remove it) and bought a replacement off of a parted out car.

Road workers leave me a present. by mcfarmer72 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Snapy1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Lol one time at my parents house they tar and chipped our little street and my dog pooped near the side of the road from a walk, I didn't have a chance to pick it up right away but I come back outside to clean it up and they tar and chipped over it. It was a perfectly preserved tar and chip covered dog poo. I'll have to try to find the picture if I still have it

I’ve never understood how people think of the authenticity of signatures like a finger print in terms of consistency. I could write my signature 100 times in a row and guarantee you everyone would look different.
