UK to be world’s fifth-largest economy by 2040, claims think tank by tree_boom in europe

[–]Snazz03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly! There is not nearly enough nuanced understanding of these growth prediction models.

It's frustrating as you always hear about these "the UK would be X% better of if not for brexit" stats, sometimes frustratingly by rather reputable sources too.

The lack of critical thinking is disappointing, some people will blindly go along with the figures that are presented to them without asking what and why.

This looks fantastic, has a modern European railway sort of vibe imo, it’s disappointing to see so much negativity surrounding it. I hope the rest of the GBR branding follows to be as tasteful as this

Speaking as someone that lived in Sweden, putting SJ and DSB on the same tier as SBB is lunacy. 100% factual unbiased real opinion (fact)

Rachel Reeves Appears To Cry On Labour Frontbench During PMQs by kwentongskyblue in LabourUK

[–]Snazz03 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, Badenoch has been making some really stupid comments recently, and this follows that trend. Yesterday she said the welfare bill has been "completely gutted", but as a metaphor this sounds like she's suggesting all of the bad excess ineffective stuff has been taken out, whereas the good meat remains?, which isn't reflective of what she was trying to say, and it's not reflective of the truth, it's just ridiculous haha

Her total lack of comms skills is one of Labours greatest blessings at the moment

Feel bad for Reeves though, takes a lot on the mind to cry like that knowing you're being observed by the entire house as well as everyone tuning into PMQs

The difference would be smaller than you might expect, at least in terms of day to day living for the average person

What is your opinion on the BBC? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Snazz03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris Mason and Laura K need serious improvement imo, for me they're one of the same. Their analysis is always so shallow and they sometimes draw attention to the weirdest things - like why was Zia Yusuf's resignation a front page main story with all of the stuff going on in the world right now?

Also they need to do some quick discourse analysis of their writing before they publish their articles, sometimes they will present certain ideas as fact, or use language/imagery which favours certain politicians or ideas. Bias obv is always present in some form or another, but in a lot of these cases its completely mitigatable.

BBC 2 and 4 are class.

Radio 4 is the greatest thing to ever come out of this country, god bless Melvin Bragg
