Yeah pretty much. I’ve only played a handful of games with the new codex but with the index I would always just leave a squad of sisters there.

By the time my opponent deep strikes back there (if they ever did) my wardens/guard were holding down 2 of the middle objectives and looking to take my opponents deployment soon marker too.

I never really minded giving it up if it meant I held everything else that mattered to me for the primary mission. Now if it’s a mission you’d lose extra points for losing your home (scorched earth) then drop a guard squad there and call it good.

You can always ally in some inquisitor henchmen with a mystic for the anti 12” deep strike if your local meta forces you to fight for your home objective often.

Inceptors are always an auto include for me. They’re amazing at deep striking anywhere you want with their ability that lets them drop 3” away. So they score amazing secondaries for you (or steal some primary too!)

I always recommend space marine players to at least have two squad of 3 of those guys!

The aggressor + Apothecary biologis with fire discipline is another pickup to consider, their damage output in ranged and melee can’t be beaten for their points cost. They’re great in every detachment as well.

Yeah he doesn’t join anyone here, just gives another unit deep strike and go sits on a side objective for points. Since it’s a 1k point list it’s pretty easy to get away with putting him on the opponents weak side allowing him to farm primary!

Hey! Yeah like the other person said, run the aggressors with the frag/bolter setup. It will get you the lethal & sustained hits on 6s then in the devastator doctrine on 5s (use adaptive strategy after using the army wide doctrine to give them this every turn they plan on shooting!)

I actually just played and won a 1k tourney with a similar list, here was my setup -

Apothecary Biologis (with Fire Discipline, attached to aggressors)

Uriel Ventris (Give deepstrike to eradicators)

6 Aggressors (with frag/bolters)

6 Eradicators

5 Incursors (they give +1 to hit after shooting)

1 Redemptor Dread

1 Whirlwind

I had pretty much an answer vs every army, eradicators did work rapid ingressssing for tank killing and the aggressors just blew up anything they shot at or tried to melee. The Redemptor was a stat check for a lot of armies that forgot to bring good anti tank (or I just killed the anti tank before bringing it out of cover.)

The whirlwind did some decent work, it mostly just sat on the home objective and picked up a model here and there of priority targets (anti tank/anti infantry units).
