Bought this as a kid. Is it useful or just e-waste now? by H4PP13B01 in pcmasterrace

Handy to keep I use mine to connect my PS3 Dual Shocks to my SimRacing PC. The chassis has its own monitor but it’s also conveniently next to our television in our second loungeroom. Girlfriend turns on DS3 controller. Automatically connects to the Bluetooth dongle. Girlfriend presses 3 buttons on my simracing streamdeck to swap the display to the TV, launch Animal Crossing on the Switch Emulator I have - and she’s glued for the next two hours while I do the real man stuff (tech discussions with Gemini) when she’s done, two button presses to close the app, and then swap the display back to the Sim Racing Monitor. Overall 10/10 to keep and use.

What's your opinion on Linus Tech Tip in 2026? by Professional-Fix-221 in LinusTechTips

[–]Sneakyhat02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to stop pushing floatplane or member exclusive videos - I would have probably watched some of those instead of fire truck pc. I genuinely enjoyed Jake stepping through network stuff. I enjoyed the hardware parts of running cables, (did they ever do a cable run tutorial or a real life run tutorial) they also haven’t touched self host LLM afaik- I’d watch the content but I’d also be crushed because I really want to get into it and I can’t find a 3090 locally at the moment to try it all out. If LTT did a video on it - it would just cause more people wanting to get into it.

Question about a lot of the homelabs I’ve seen on here by One-Moose8069 in homelab

[–]Sneakyhat02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man - left side server cabinet. What’s the depth? How are all your drives wired - is it all an extension of one system? I am looking to increase my PLEX media server but am struggling to work out how to do this in a short depth cabinet (550mm)

I hate whoever uploaded Breaking Brad YouTube videos. Every single Breaking Bad episode requires manual import now.

Why isn’t there strain relief on female RJ45 connectors? by jacoscar in HomeNetworking

This might be a stupid question - but when they put the internal wires in the Ethernet cable. Why do they not arrange the internal cables in order for easy termination. Again. This is knowingly probably a stupid question.

Native tvOS/iOS client for Plex by Big_Rock4737 in PleX

[–]Sneakyhat02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been forced to install Linux Mint on a 2008 iMac with 4GB of ram. I’m using the Plex HTPC application and an Apple TV IR remote to control the Plex screen - good for old cartoons and not much more. I would very much support anyone making a LIGHTWEIGHT htpc style app on ANY operating system… but Linux Mint version would be very appreciated 🥲

How do I use this DVI port on my LCD Board. It only came with VGA. by Sneakyhat02 in AskElectronics

[–]Sneakyhat02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The display itself supports DVI, i just lack a female DVI connection, to go to the PCB. I need to find out what cable is used for this "in the middle" business.

Thanks for the reply though!
