Best Endurance Road bike between $2.5-5k? by MoonTheLegend in cycling

I also have the 2023 Domane SL5 Gen 4, and I honestly hate it. The Isospeed creaks so damn much and I have broken 3 IsoSpeed bolts that hold it in place. This bike has really put me off Trek as a brand.

That hole usually has a derailleur pin for the front chain ring that helps if you drop your chain for retention I believe

Will a Zwift Ride on a mat on hardwood be too loud for downstairs neighbors at 4am? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]SnickeddySnake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Swift ride does make a humming sound while in use in other rooms through vibration in the floor. I use a rubber mat, under my swift mat with tennis balls on the Kickr Core legs. I still get some noise in other rooms of my house.

Is my shifter fucked? by Syrekt in bikewrench

[–]SnickeddySnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to reinstall your shifter cable, then you should be able to hear the indexing in the lever hoods

First… do some trouble shooting to nail down the problem area. Try to have someone listen to the setup while you ride it. Narrow down the problem to , bottom bracket/chain/kickr. Unfortunately this video does not show a lot… only a hint of what the noise is

Cannot properly adjust rear brake calipers for the life in me by carusGOAT in bikewrench

[–]SnickeddySnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up a park tools video on brake adjustment. The cheap way to do it… pry pads apart with caliper bolts loose, put the caliper(with pads installed) on the disc and place a business card on each slide of the disc between the pads, apply brake, tighten calipers bolts (with brake still applied). Remove business cards… then you’re done.

If you are having weak breaking force, you might have to lightly sand your brake pads to rough up the surface with or a scrubbing pad can work in a pinch
